Google’s DoubleClick Launches New Marketplace For Display Ads

Google, which has dominated search advertising, is hoping to take over the display advertisement space by launching new DoubleClick Ad Exchange to create an open, real-time marketplace for large online publishers and ad networks and agencies to buy and sell display advertising space.

Google bought the display ad provider DoubleClick in 2007 for $3.1 billion in cash, after fighting a bidding war with Microsoft. This announcement of this new marketplace is a direct move against Yahoo, which has till now dominated the display ad marketplace for some time.

Yahoo is there in this makrket for a very long time and though google is google you never know when they can surprise you, and for Google's double click its hard for them to capture the market even with new realtime auction for advertisers who can access a large pool of inventory within one platform, people will go for yahoo for the time being and even yahoo are coming up with new things all the time to remain at the top spot in this market, and will not go down that easily in this fight.
