Hockey India ceased to exist as a recognised entity.The Sports Ministry, in a late communique, withdrew the provisional recognition to HI, claiming the federation had not only violated the government guidelines about holding elections but also admitted that it was private body not under the government’s jurisdiction. The move means that the KPS Gill-led Indian Hockey Federation now happens to be the sole recognised national hockey body.Just when the things seemed to be going right for hockey Suddenly what we see itz returning to the hands of the same old useless person(KPS Gill) who had been at helm for nearly 15 years untill IHF was sacked in 1998 following some corruption charges.He was only responsible in unnecessarily sacking of players,biased selection.Know I want to ask why are people from non-sporting background are made selectors or head the body.They have no knowledge of sports most of them have not even played it.what good are they going to do however to the sport.They are just there to eat the money meant for the development of Hockey.See today the sport which is called the national game of india always finds it difficult to get one good sponsor for major tournaments unlike cricket which will get dozens of sponsors even if india is playing bangladesh.India failed to qualify for the olympics,now they havent qualified for the champions trophy which ended last week.ppl If the ppl who are made accountable wont do anything who will do?Instead of doing any development for the game government is simply happy recognising and de-recognising HI and IHF.

Yes they shouldn't have derecognized, instead they should have motivated people and made hockey a top sport in India.....
