The Government has been drafting a bill for this purpose ever since 1963 without success or asking anyone's opinion. So what if they do it another time. Annaji and team lending their presence to something that is purposeless in their view would is surely not be what they and their supporters would want.

Anna Hazare came to picture once while drafting this bill when it was first presented in 1963 after that the knowledgeably intelligent officials are working hard to make the bill more practical and applicable. Suddenly out of nowhere when Anna seen the scope of fooling public by using the anger of people about corruption he came forward just after the cases of 2G, CWG, Adarsh, and many more on trail. Why didn't he dared to come before? He knew it that the bill is not practical that's why he just took this time to publicize his bill where he will get a confirmed seat in the center moreover he can very well put his men in the panel. Now that Anna is moving and stepping back this country's future is secured and now to choose :- Do we value the Loppal more or Anna? If Anna then there is a big mess and if only Lokpal then we must be concerned about the implementation free of any particular person's presence.

If Kapil Sibal says that the Lok pal bill will be completed with or without ANNA HAZARE then he is talking nonsense. Why the Government has not done before anna and ramdev came on to the streets. Even if the Lok Pal bill is completed without Anna then it will not be acceptable at all.

The government would never complete the bill without Anna, It is just because he has asked for the live telecast of the meeting for Lok Pal bill. No government either congress or bjp had shown such accountability or they could have done that in past. What if they draft a bill and considering the current situation the opposition and the people of India start another campaign. it's good comments

Government has now took Anna, they are making the same statements for him which they made for Baba Ramdev. Government will first secure their ministers as PM has already given a lot of time to its ministers to do all manipulation they can do in their assest and then declare it. Lok pal bill may go to trash very soon.

I think we should not have bothered about Baba Ramdev and his antics. But the way Anna is moving is disappointing. I think Anna's movement is being taken over by self serving people who are not very committed to the very basic cause of corruption. They just want their place under the sun. All the people like Anna, J. P. Narayanan and V. P. Singh have met with this end. Wonder what is this about?

In Parliamentary Democracy we have been witnessing this high-handedness so far. Uprising of civil societies to raise the awareness level has forced the government to allow 50% participation of civil societies in drafting the Jan Lokpal bill. Government insist to drop all the main functionaries demanded to be under the purview of this bill is a calculated move to annul the whole process and will table one of the weakest possible option. They will separately enter into back-door dialogue with the opposition members to get their nod to pass the bill also in the parliament, as proposed. Do you think, this will have any use to contain corruption? Not at all. As one of the members of civil society mentioned that if referendum is sought from public for this bill, the general public would seek incorporation of every functionary under the ambit of this Bill. This Government has scant regard for public opinion, and goes on to say that we are for people, by people and of people, what a joke!

Anna and team did not boycott the bill. Or did they? They r demanding seriousness of govt. Anna and team must remain part of formation of JLP bill. Else politicos got a golden chance to pass a bill which favors them and does not have tooths to bite them. So the thnigs will again turn to age old normalcy.

Mr.Hazare should re-think his stand. He has the stature to stand alone and be counted. There is no need for him to join others. If a person really wishes to make a difference in value based matters, he or she will do so without stirring additional controversies. These controversies are costing government valuable time and taxpayer's money. Now attending to these matters the government (whatever party - congress BJP left right top bottom or anything else) is going to do less than the little it would have done!! Value based movements should be quiet and not fussy. They should not be showy. They should have the impact of a life saving drug and the strength of tsunami and must be equally sudden. None of the events of the last few months have been any of those. I have neither regard nor respect for these showmen who hog the lime light and make a fuss. Nor do i respect them TV channels who promote them by giving them air time. Yes, Now corruption is a part of governance. It took us damn near 100 years to become independent and it will probably take us longer to clean ourself up!! More so because we are the enemy here. So i would rather bet on the government's ability to do it.....may be slower needing many iterations but a better chance of happening.

I am not convinced whether Govt has positive atttude to implement the bll.if they have they could do long back. The interests of political leaders from all parties ar involved here.Annaji and team raised the movement and Govt now under pressure started the process. Anna has some thoughts which they want to include in the bill.So they should be there to prepare draft of Lokpal Bill.
