BURN CALORIES...... The main reason people go is burn those excess calories and be healthy. 

Even swimming is also equally good and majority prefer this compared to gym 

But majority of them who join GYM discontinue it soon after few months itself....... Only sports person and filmsstars are regular and also have gym in their house itself.....

Normally, its both :) but its both towards body building. In today's busy life, we hardly get time to look after our health. This is the only place where we truly can excercise that too under trained supervision...
