The summary of engineering is to use tools appropriate for the job. In case the job is securing your systems and network, you must hire the ones who know what to test. Hence, people with orthodox training as well as those who are self-trained - "hackers" - have their place in the game. As with people who handle sensitive data of the organization, there should be necessary checks and balances in place. Focussed and well defined activities, clean and clear separation of test environments from the actual production systems are some of the steps that have to be a part of such a setup. An analogy might be the typical antibiotics or medicines we use to recover from sickness. Used correctly, they cure, else they kill.

safety is a management issue and not a hiring / firing / separation or recruitment issue ............. Hence depending on the program they are hired for or working for , the same need to have reasonable procedures for any unforeseen issues. I m refering to business process compliance procedures and BCP methods and practises........I m even in the support of the practise whrerein hackers are also hired as people manager roles or even in HR dept. ... Sincerely , Thank you

Its very much the right way to proceed and tackle the hacking menace. It reminds me of the saying :you can remove a thorn only with a thorn: so there you are counter the hackers with hackers themselves. This would help in being one up on the hackers. Good decision and its time the govt. of india too followed suit !

Why not thats the current revolution. Just a reminder that even FBI and NYPD has recruited a hacker who once challenged them and did beat all the possible information security systems. Some hackers are not thief but are eager and curious to expose their talent. If given a proper direction they can create wonders for the company. But a positive and crystal clear intent and a clean hand over the data is very very essential. However, hackers can really prove to be an anti virus for an organization they still needs to be watched by an internal auditor because we can train a tiger but cant stop him from hunting.

In current scenario, Hackers are essential for IT Industry. security threats are going higher and higher, so a security expert is good for company. Its important that he must be a White hat. Its very difficult to secure your co. without a security auditor. he must have to think beyond the black hat's.

Positive hacking is a new game plan. These positive hackers try on hacking their own site to find the loopholes of the programme and find answers to overcome possible sabotage hackers to enter in. From the positive side it is good. It may have other problems too.

Hackers for what purpose they recruit. To hack information related to Defence or secrets of Business propositions. Just to protect one's own from others' is okay. But, in other field it is dangerous. Recently, there were a lot of hue & cry on hacking of China's secrets-information by Google.
