Harry Potter's success: can such movies be made in India ?

Harry Potter has been a huge success through and through and the fan base has kept on increasing. While we are struck with some movies which are totally meaningless and give no entertainment this series from west has gained popularity globally. Can we ever do something like this?

I do not think that any writer from this generation can write something this interesting and makers can never give justice to quality which makers of Harry Potter have maintained.

In Telugu we have "Chandamama" a monthly magazine.  In this magazine  number of such stories  were published and being published.  Once upon a time, it was a household magazine.  

 

There were number of films directed by Sri "Vithalacharya" with almost the same concept of this kind way back  3 to 4 decades ago on Tollywood screen,   during which time, today's technology was not available to him   However, with the minimum available technology, he could able to show this kind of fiction on celluloid.

India has many a great writers, maybe they haven't tried their hand at this ind of fiction but that is not because thy are not capable but rather because they aren't ready to explore as of yet! And about the tech used for these movie, just to let u guys know Indian companies are already working on big ticket projects in the USA and UK. Sooner or later India too will be able to create such master pieces.

It can be made. One has seen good movies consisting of moving in the clouds, angels appearing out of thin air when there was no advanced technology available to them, but due to their ingenuity and cleverness. As to writing of such novels, India can boast of many mythological movies where mantra, tantra, parakaya pravesa etc were included. One strongly disagrees with the younger generation who think every thing west was not done, cannot be done in India, one suggests that they should go through the literary history, cinema history of this country before making such comments.

Writing the script is one thing and enacting it on stage is an another thing. Just lack of motivation from all related to making product.

Shilpa I will not agree fully with you. The first print order was only 1000 copies and today like mobile this book series is available at all most all house hold in UK and USA.

Why not this may happen in India too but from a new writer.

No, never. it can not be make due to lot of lack in india. To make such movie Indian film industry require advanced technology, technical experts, screenplay , writer, heavy budget,graphics etc. Today film industry are taking copyright or taking simultaneously theme from international movie then produce. So, it may be make up to some extent level but can not create such story...
