As more and more people are signing in to Facebook and Twitter and updating their status there is decline in the blog users. It is a difficult to sit and wait for the responses and most of the people we want to reach are available on socio-nets. There are people who say they were too busy to write lengthy posts and were uninspired by a lack of readers. While there are others saying blogging can never be replaced by Sociao-nets.. There are options like Blogger, BlogHer, WordPress which are aloow you to express yourself in a different way than juust status.. So what is your take??

Yes because if you see both facebook and toostep are like kind of mini blogs in itself. You can post anything on your wall or on your page and it is not only faster, it reaches people in your community or group faster. Whereas in a blog you got to upload your file and then send a link to people who will have to navigate away from the page they are in to view your blog.A person already on facebook can easily view your blog on FB while chatting with their friends at the same time. This is the age of convenience and speed !

Blogging is the natural evolution of the lighter publishing methods — at some point you’ll have more to say than fits in 140 characters, is too important to put in Facebook’s generic chrome, or you’ve matured to the point you want more flexibility and control around your words and ideas. In such situations you don't think of updates alone... Blogs can never be replaced..

Its surprising to read such counter arguments as what Neha has written!! Mr Murugesan, let me understand what you have written more clearly. Any log on the internet is a BLOG! So there cannot be a shorter or longer version. What you write here remains here and is a BLOG! Whether its Facebook or twitter or MySpace or Toostep or LinkedIn!!! The question here is the sustainability of platforms such as deli.cio.us, toostep.com etc to engage the audiences better than what Facebook or twitter does! The idea is to find out whether we are loosing like minded professionals time on platforms such as ours to these social sites??

Toostep is a blog platform too!! Facebook & Twitter have been leaders in making distance disappear between people. They have been instrumental in attaching a fantastic emotional quotient for the users to enable effective immediate ethereal contact. Its natural for these platforms to have more traffic as they are non restrictive, they are family and friends... two of the most strongest reasons for people to stick to those. Other platforms are purely blog platforms and they have a different meaning altogether. They are more serious, work related and knowledge based... which people with the age in question feel bored about!! Cant blame them can you????

Yes to certain extent, people spent more time in updating facebook and tweets rather than writing something creative via blogs.

I dont think. Blogging and tweeting are two different modes of expression. Tweeting is nothing but chit chatting with your friends and others. Where as blogging is expression of our views with analysis. As Mr. Munshi observed their target audience are totally different. Mr. Makrand, your observation is correct with regard to Neha.

No, I do not think so. Blogging and sites like Facebook are not the same, their aim and target audiences are totally different.

Blogging represents longer version of your thoughts or works where other two represents instantaneous or shorter version. Most of the time posts in twitter or facebook are links to blogs. So how the blogs can lose its charm
