We all see what is happening around us. We see all the dirty games that happen in name of politics & religion. Ministers come to beg for votes & then exploit the common man. But when we ask for rights we are asked to shut our mouth///////
So, has common man lost his voice in the biggest democracy of the world????
I believe so..that common man has lost his voice in this dirty game of politics. Today common man is exploited to its core & the politicians rape the common man in all different ways.

No. Common man has not yet lost his voice. He chose not to raise it !! If he remembers that the time has come to raise his voice, no power can withstand him. He can place powerful people in insignificant positions and hand over the power to the right people. If he roars, governments will fall, self centered politicians will be sent behind the bars, honest and upright people will rule the country. The question is when he will revolt...who will lead it...I am eagerly waiting for his caravan to come and blast the present structure and rebuilt it.

Let us not go into the language part of it. Perhaps people will agree more to it if we re-frame it as "majority of the educated persons act as silent spectators in public life." People prefer to ignore wrong acts going on in their presence sometimes out of fear of being attacked or being falsely implicated by the authorities in affairs where it will be difficult for them to hold out. Others adopt an indifferent or couldn't care less attitude in public places. The result is encouragement to gangsters, hooligans and the corrupt. Even today there are states or atleast some places where the mob becomes active when someone behaves nasty. A movement through the net to wake up the dormant masses would be the only way out of this state of affairs. By

I always heard the voice of big persons such as our great politicians, business person etc. Well ravali the truth is there is no such thing the voice of common man. we are just running towards the thing that is not in existence. Common man lost his voice when he votes for the corrupt politician and the corrupt party to come to power. After having exercised one's franchise unmindfully, he sulks for his decision for the remaining five years and go through the agony silently. He has no other options but to go through. Its shame on the part of people who vote for paltry money and liquor in many under-developed states. They form majority in number. By

The Common Man has a right to remain silent, which he practices daily and judiciously. He does it as long as his mundane lifestyle is not getting affected or else he mews and gives khuda ki duhai, as this jivan is harjai and again goes on with his way of life.
Mr.Murthy has used very heavy metaphors of roars and revolts. No way sir the common man basically has no voice at all, a roar will be too big an exercise for his larynx.

Yeah, he lost his voice decades ago. He authorised his representatives to speak on his behalf in a democratic set up in our land. But these representatives are tweeting their own, leaving his master some miles away. The common man, failing time and again in selecting the perfect representatives who can resounds his voice. As long as the common man sells himself to his representative(s) for money and a peg of liquor, he cant force his representatives to represent him in true sense.

I am glad to note that this issue is really being debated in the right earnest. I should not try to reveal my appreciation of what Mr. Suryanarayana has enunciated that the common man has not lost his voice and also his subsequent analysis. It is true Mr. Suryanarayana that some body should lead. But what is being debated is the common man's voice. Not the person who should lead. A person who comes in to lead should be trustworthy, gain the confidence of the common man, put up the front, develop strategies etc etc which I think is futile exercise in the present scenario. The money and muscle power of his opponents would eventually disable the leader and he will cease to exist or would retire. This results in the common man further languishing in the light of being branded and victimized for having raised his voice. My hopes are on the youngsters who are molding themselves to become future leaders. Even they are likely to face obstacles at several stages. They should stay determined and spread the message of a phenomenal change which should result in total transformation from extending comforts to the have nots of our country. They have education, economic independence, exhilaration in the new and adventurous venture, and abundant knowledge behind them. Dont you think this would be better idea against asking a lakh of common men to join and raise their voice?

There is no ambiguity at all. Common man has lost his self identity, is tossed around, made to pick bits and pieces, of the left over, has no say, no voice, no support, terribly maligned, paralyzed from top to bottom, cannot be heard, unstable, shivering, and facing never ending nightmare. The reaction is equally pathetic. He resorts to drugs, alcohol, beating or murdering his wife, never responsible, prone to anger, depression and desperation. He deserts his family, likes to a isolated, indulges in theft, criticism, joins group ism for gains from distraught illusions. All that is left of him is to go to the voting poll when Neta approaches him, for a meager amount which lasts for few moments. This is the fate of our democratic country which consists of demons and ghosts who call them Netas and who have no time to listen to the common man's vows. I only hope that with the expection of the population consisting of only an average age of 29 years youth, during 2020, the demons and ghosts will not be eliminated but exterminated. And I also hope that the youth will set an example to again hear the common man's vows with an open eye, would share all the country's rich wealth with them.

I have been trying very hard to recollect one instance where the comman man's voice has been heard but not succeeded. If at all anything has happened, it is because some bigwig (politician, judiciary, executive, etc) pushed it for their own interests. Has any politician been punished for the corruption cases? Has any judge been caught for all the wrongdoings? Has any person in a high position been dismissed for the blatant misuse of their powers? the common man has been trying very hard to make atleast one of these happen without success. Everywhere you see power centres, cartels, brokers, etc. The common man cannot avoid being raped.

It is yes and No. combined wisdom of common man in India raises it's revolt when when things come to a flash point.
That was seen when Indira Gandhi got defeated in elections after Emergency. In Tamilnadu, people have no choice but to vote a different party in each election with a rare occurrence of voting the same party to power.
In a democratic set up when Leaders and change agents work for a change, common man does support as he always looks for change.
Revali, you are talking of common man, What happenend to Iraq? Whole world just kept mum. Might is right. In the name of democracy, again the might is ruling you and me. There is no end of these things.
I m totaly agree with revali that comman men has lost his voice. our politicians are corrupt, infact corruptions has been spread top to bottem in almost all the department. The irony is that vigilene authority is also cuorruptd, which is supposed to curb the corruptiion. But only politician are not responcible for that, we are also responsible for that as we give them chance to exploits us. still, vote is sold mearly a bottel od wine, 100 rs of bucs, etc. though there is a RTI act but i think only 10 percent of hte population r aware it. So , there is a lot to do .

Yeah I also believe that Common man has lost his voice just because all the tools given to people has been hijacked by our so called leader's.
A very simple mathemetics, In a very good poll turn out it reaches approximately 70%, and any contestant who gets about 40%+ wins the seat. So 40% of 70% goes to 28% only.
Any leader who represents only 28% people can not be the voice of majority, at the very same time 2%-5% of these 28% people hijack the complete power in all possible formats, Like Infra contracts, Job postings, Police broker's and so on....
An staggering 90+% people just sit and watch because they neither they have power, nor they have money to raise their voice. Democracy has become an tool to raise corruption.

Firstly we must refrain from terming anyone "Common Man". Every human is born unique and turns oneself into a beggar by own making through- loss of self esteem or refusing to learn the lessons. So let us use the term "Citizen of India".
Most citizen of India still prefer to live as slaves and do not want to stand up in either voluntarily meeting with their duties and await orders as also instead of demanding their rights draw comfort from whatever is offered. In turn the exploiters continue taking advantage through varied means.
So unless majority realises and opts to shed slave mentality, our natural and hard earned resources both will keep slipping into hands of a few KHAAS who would continue to ensure majority remains being addressed as "AAM"
I dont agree. Common man has great voice but he hadn't tried to raise it. If he mentally and emotionally decided to raise what happens... already proved in Anna Hazare issue. So as an educated persons its our duty to encourage common man and let involve him in social causes.

Comman man has not lost voice, he should raise his voice when he gets chance ie once in five years when the dirty politicians are comes to his home to begging his vote.. at the time he can demand his social requirements around him or his society..
it is a fact that one thinking only for himself is the paralysis that has hit the common man. why do we forgt that politicians & criminals are also humans that common man has the strength of numbers. they thrive on our fear & insecurity. the day everyone feels responsible for not only himself but also for his neighbour, we will cease to be a flock of scared sheep & turn into one powerful entity. we need powerful motivators to act as catalysts & ignite the required flame in us.
common man has voice but it only work in groups and crowd to create danga, and negative activities.coz they dont have faith in themself, still other class of common man with positve attitute has power to make him voice listen ,due to which every now and then we find new and unknown faces with awards and many positive work with very common background By

Reply to Ms. Latha Sivan: During 1976-77 (may be you were not born, then) the whole of India rallied around Jaya Prakash Narayan under the slogan Total Revolution. All opposition parties, including BJP (then Jana Sangh) merged to form Janata Party. There were only three parties, congress, communist and janata party and congress lost heavily. Janata Party came to power but could not keep it due to infighting. I am looking forward for such a person. Then it was a common man's rally. It is a caravan.
Even politician is a common man before he enters politics when he/she has a voice to raise dont you think we do have and we can raise but here in India we dont bother until it hurts you personally do you think it happens in other countries...because we are more concerned about ourselves than our nation, our generation. When a poor man raises, he can burn the forest but we dont raise as we dont have confidence in ourselves and there wont be anyone who would support to make the changes.
The person who starts the change would be considered as mentally abnormal and others would put him in a corner where he/she would subside.
i totally agreed with Mr. suryanaraya & Ayushi.....but ravali 1 thing i want ask u if common man has lost his vioce then why it is raised here today....we all are the common peoples...but dont no about you....everybody has a full right to express their viws and participate in public polls and other issues....so it is better not to say that common man has lost his voice...but yes we can say that they just igorng wht they are....and wht they can do...
Common man has realized that in the present scenario there is no point in raising voice...as the so called government has turned a deaf ear towards them.
I wouldn't say that they have lost their voice, I would rather say that they keep quiet by choice. The day a common man decides to raise their voice and unite towards a cause, they are bound be heard, noticed and bring about an effective change.
The common man is simply following the mantra "Ignorance is a Bliss"

This is a response to Shri Kaliya Moorthy-ji. How many of us - participating in this debate - voted in the last elections... Let's be honest..I bet it is not even 20%. We do not have a moral right to discuss about the present system
A common man has not lost his VOICE but, misused by OTHERS. Obvious misuse is seen as ," lost". Voice is in the form of money & power(societal status / official). India's growing economy can not be achieved, if these were lost.
Common man's awareness to gain his voice , has, in the recent past increased, due to Multi-medias. More & more, people start using their voice through various forums enshrined in the system.
What I feel is that, the scope for misuse of his voice is to be reduced considerably , in the coming years. Economic growth is an indication that their VOICE is respected else, we will see the reverse.

Common man dint have any voice in the first place. Hence, nothing is lost.
Our erstwhile leaders should have designed the constitution in such a way that the common / lay man had a voice and power. Power to recall the same leaders that they elected. The electoral system must have been different in the first place.
