Government said that the Indian government will be "satisfied" if Pakistani-American David Coleman Headley, who pleaded guilty in a US court to his involvement in the Mumbai attacks, is awarded a life sentence. Other details of his accessibility for questioning by India, interrogation or about giving testimony have to be worked out in the coming weeks. Headley can now be directly questioned by Indian investigators after his confession in a court in US to his involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks, although he will not be extradited to India.

US said all the information that Headley has given to US authorities is and has been shared with India and Denmark. But till now, we havn't receaved the current picture of Hedley also. On whether Headley would get a life sentence, it was said that the range of the sentence could be either life or any other sentence less than that as authorised by law. It is obviously a complicated case and this case has a long way to go and Headley is "not eligible for probation".

So users, has David Headley's plea bargain made a mockery of USA's 'war on terror'?

Our Government should be firm in dealing with Terrorism related laws. of course dealing with U. S and Pakistan in this issue is a very complicated matter. However we should take up the matter with concern authorities and to sort out the issue permanently.

He has to be taken into custudy till the enquiry gets over by indian officials. Other wise it makes no sense.

If they put him jail directly, then there will be no meaning at all.Any thing can happen to him at any time.

David Headley's case is a strange one. We do not know what he is. He may be a US double agent who may have been double-crossing them, or working under their instructions. In the guise of catching Bill Laden, he worked with Pakistani terrorists to attack India. We depend completely on the US for information on Headley. If they had not caught him, he could have been plotting against India along with terrorists. Our intelligence, if it exists at all, completely missed him. I am really angered by the total helplessness of India in stopping Muslim terrorists, and our pathetic begging of Pakistan and the US to solve our problem with terrorism. If ISI can come to our backyard and blast us, can't we do anything to stop it? Are they so super smart? or we pathetically inadequate?

After sentencing, even if we get a chance to interrogate Headley, why should he tell us anything? We have to just believe what the Americans tell us. What a pathetic situation?

Inside information is the key here. Headley has very vital information with him related to the terror network. He is not supposed to spill the beans so early. He needs to be under constant persuasion and interrogation to get out those vital information. The world needs that... more than the US and India. He is of use 'alive' not 'dead'.

I think a life term in a US prison without probation is tougher than a death sentence. If you have seen the series Prison Break and movies like The Traitor and Blood and Bones, you know that its a hell hole. The other hardcore criminals will take up his case inside.
