Dear Sarat kumar, its all about individual choices, its not like people are forcing you to sit and watch all those games, people who are having genuine interest are watching these games, and yes every sport is some sort of entertainment you that is why it is called a spectator sport in the first place.....so than complaining IPL as a waste of time both in India and internationally....for that matter what would you call a 50 over match IPL is atleast 20 over matches.....

Yes, I feel IPL is a national waste because, as many as told it is for entertainment and make mind pleasent. Ok, if they think like that are oneday matches and test matches not enough to them? and Intenational 20 20 mathes aren't enough for that purpose? why should IPL is for that? how much money they are spending on this? think ones how much money Indian or state governments spending momey for providing security to the players? Each frachisee of each team are spending crores of rupees for their team members if they spend this money for poorers in the country we can eliminate poverty in India. If those people think and spend such money on creating employment in India we can see India as super power in the world. By spending such a huge amount on a game how much benefit India is getting? How it is usful for an ordinary man in India? it is a strategy to minting money.

Globalising sports or taking indian sports global can never be considered a waste. If it is then, the world cup, olympics, asian games are all a waste. I know that in these sporting events it is the countries that participate but then the NBA is played in foreign shores today, tennis tournaments are being conducted all over the world. Crores of money are being spent on all that. If a lot of money is being spent on IPL, a lot of people are also benefitting through security, event, advertising, construction contracts etc. Hence it is wrong Sarat to say that IPL is wasting money. After all we are not a robotic society, we need entertainment in amy form - national or international. Instead you should be proud that IPL has gone from national to international. People in a lot of countries will get exposed to our way of life. Yes, agree with you that there is corruption in it. Can you name one event in india where there is no corruption ?
