IPL was designed to be a platform for young players. It was suppose to showcase their talent worldwide. This is the fourth season going..How many players have IPL given us? Has IPL served its purpose?

I dont think so. For young buddies IPL provided a platform to play the game alongside biggies like Sachin, Dhoni, Veeru, Sangakkara, Jayavardhane, Shane Warne, Mike Hussey etc. etc. It is useful for their career as a cricketer. When it comes to their selection to Indian Team, ofcourse it is disappointment for Rayudu and the like. How long the selectors can keep them away when they are performing well. IPL is a very good platform undoubtedly.

IT has been good for Chris Gayle but not for any Indian talent.. The purpose is somewhere lost. They went to the auction, they chose and they are there.

IPL has been a great platform for the young cricketers and in the India's tour of WestIndies it is quite visible that it has served its purpose too.Few days back many of us were concerned about our teams performance without big names.

100%. what we need to understand is tht IPL was designed as an entertainer & not as a preparatory tournament for the national team. Thats wht brought the 2 biggest revenue houses of the country Bollywood & cricket toogether. Its a new industry providing entertainment to people & employment to lakhs of people. think about the revenue generated thru the merchandise sold as an example. So as per my understanding the IPL has definitely served its purpose.

The IPL products like Saurabh Tiwary, Naman Ojha and Ravichandhran Ashwin have already positioned themselves in a strong position and the ongoing version has discovered talents like Paul Valthaty, Rahul Sharma, Sreenath Aravind and Iqbal Abdulla. These young boys are playing with worlds top players. I Think IPL serving its purpose.

Anything regarding the laziest stuff like cricket can never serve any kind of purpose. Moreover concerning the totally fixed type Indian Pathetic League (IPL) which is a bane to our country's economy and infrastructure in a long run it becomes more thinkable derogatory issue. This is a time to stop thinking about this game and promote other games which has indeed and in fact more appeal and crowd globally. Games like our National Game Hockey then football, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis etc which has greater health benefit and are more popular internationally too. We have to compete this whole world if we want us to be over the top in every positive aspects concerned.

I condemn specially this format because of the brutal fact that the concept holder (Mr. Kapil Dev) is not entertained and felicitated and the main financier (Mr. Lalit Modi) to build up the architecture is brutally thrown out like any trash. To what extent will they be selfish and so cruel?. Moreover it is only the star players who eat the most of the cake(Money for auction or bid) why not promote and prioritize the new ones so that they can also improve their conditions and can get more feel good factor?

IPL has served those cricketers who weren't able to make it to the Test team; IPL has served those who prefers money over just the love of the game; IPL has served those who loves the bowlers being clobbered for a six! or four! every ball; IPL has served those who loves to make quick money out of nothing and shame the nation on yet another scam; IPL has served those corporates who just needs to pep up their Balance Sheet with 'Miscellaneous Income' and the overall profit; AND IPL has served those skimpily clad cheer-leaders, or should I say failed models, who now profited from showing just their skin and probably even more...

But has IPL did anything better to serve the game? NO. It is beginning to ruin the love of the game where players have started preferring playing for their franchisees over their country. Gone are the days where test cricket was considered the ultimate test for the players; Cometh the IPL and test cricket now seems in its final journey unless and until something is done to regain its past glory. Yes, it has churned millions of dollars but has it churnd atleast half a dozen of Indian talent? Yusuf, Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina..How many of them have cemented their place in the test team? None...Now does IPL augur well for these potentially talented youngsters?

My answer: NO

Ayan i support you.The whole IPL should not be considered as tallent hunt.its all about money.BCCI if they organise without foreign players,IPL could be equally successful and indian juniors can get oppurtunity to perform in this mega event.

As it is rightly said by Mr vinoy,we have to live with in, even players does not have patience to play for 5 long days, so what is next, 10 overs then 5 overs?? we should not astonish one day, the series would be decided by "just a toss?" including man of the series award? thanks for referral

IPL & T-20 just isn't cricket. But we better live with it. In today's world nobody none of us have time for five day matches. .... too be frank, not even a one-day.

Why!! Test cricket is the best form of cricket and that tests the real power of a player. We should not get lost in glamor and forget the roots should we??
BJP too is forcing him to resign but he is seeking legal options to stay in. No one wants him, everyone knows how corrupt he is still he is not willing to leave! what should this attitude be called? Do you think he will resign at will ?
Yes it can be called inside information from a blog. We cannot the understand the real feeling without facing a similar situation.
