Now that we know that the NANO is sure to fire here, Mahindra and MAruti have followed suit! Mahindra is coming out with their version of a 'small affordable car' and Maruti with the 'CERVO' (refer Mangala Shetty article). Will NANO still emerge a clear winner??

This is tough. All the brands in question have survived the times and tests of the masses. There is acceptability in their brand offering and product too!

My only question that really nags me is where will these cars run?? The roads are already congested, even if the cars are small, the affordability  factor would mean more cars per house and therefore on road! Will the government be proactive and adopt a policy for the buying of cars per household?? This is really tough.

Also, the consideration that they have very strong brand presence, marketing resources and advertising potential too.

With due respect to Tata Motors, But actually Maruti has changed the Indian car market again due respect to Mahindra N Mahindra they have come a long way, but couldn't do much in the indian car market, may be they did not concentrate less than their Jeep and tractor market, but off late they have come out with some good models. Now it's up to Nano to sustain in this market and prove that they can change the scene.

Till then let's cross our fingers and watch few more models entering the market.

Yes, I do agree with the fact that TATA NANO is a trend setter not only as a product but as in terms of marketing strategies & planning, Hats off to TATA  & its partner companies.

There are 3 brands listed here and any auto fanatic knows whos the leader with their tried and tested products and that keeps on running on and on and on....

Nano may have created a new segment with the lowest priced car for the time being but one has to wait and see the durability and reliability for the same, cuz the M800 is tried and tested for generations and I am sure many here reading this have passed their classes on one. we have to wait and see.Marutis on the seat already, Tata has a chance if they have their homework done right, but an ultra low cost M car is just around the corner.
