"Confidence", vital for strong growth, has been eviscerated by talk of a looming abyss. It’s hard to think about big purchases when you’re worried that bank accounts could be frozen. It’s not just credit-funded big ticket items such as cars and furniture. Fear, along with lingering high inflation has encouraged tight wallets at the supermarket and clothing stores.

Yes seen as a global credit crisis could have a massive impact on the quality of our daily lives I think we should probably all start to care. What will be will not be. Everyone is going to have to reduce their standard of living by a significant percentage to allow the economy to stabilise itself at a lower level.
