Has the rape cases in recent years tarnished Goa's popularity as a tourist destination?

In today's news, another shameful incident of a nine year old girl getting raped in Goa by two unidentified persons was published. It made me shocked as this time, the victim was a 9 year old ! and that too she was raped in front of her mother !

From past few days, sexual attacks on foreigners,(mainly Russian tourists) in Goa has increased. only a few days ago, a 19 year old Russian was assaulted and before that several others.

As we all know Goa is known as one of the best travel destinations of India. But it seems, due to this kind of acts, tourism in Goa is getting effected. What do you think users? Has the rape cases in recent years tarnished Goa's popularity as a tourist destination?

Such incidents may be, like drops yet akin to a vessel getting full spillage is inevitable. How quickly the Goa police and judiciary acts and if this becomes sufficient deterrent are important factors that may determine which way it is heading.

Surely such incidents ought be dealt much more severely than present.

Surely this will effect not only the Goa tourism but the tourism of entire India very badly. These irresponsible people don't even realise that because of their this kind of actions, the whole country is getting a bad name. With the increase in rape cases in Goa, it has got bad image as a tourist hub among the foreign tourists and if not controlled very soon, will effect the tourism industry of the whole India.

Rape incident in Goa is only a crime can happened any part of the world. The incident of course is damaging the  reputation. We of course did not know the circumstances lead to the situation. But a country like India with strong governing capacities, administration , considering the population and the percentage of such crimes in India comparing international level, there is no reason to think this incident can affect Goa tourism. If there is a drop of tourists in Goa or any part of the world, we should consider the present economy situation of the world. A Good package of tourism considering the economy situation,  the market can be re-captured.

I can't see much decline in Goan tourism yet. Still there are lot of tourists coming to Goa. Indeed this kind of cases are very shameful and if not controlled, may have bad effect of Indian tourism but by now, it hasn't caused much damage to the tourism industry in Goa.
