cellphones have not only replaced watches but so many things but that does not mean watches are not going to be worn.

yes, in the long run, mobile phones and PC eradicated wrist watches. This happened because of multifeature capability of mobile phones and people accepting mobile phones with both hands. With mobiles in hand, people can use them in several ways, infact we can say that use of calcualtor is also reduced a little but since even a small shop requirs calculator for the ease of use, it is not much impacted. there is no doubt that wrist watches are important but the use is definitely reduced.

Yes, many including me have stopped wearing a watch since starting to carry a mobile. May be the watch makers can now look forward for mobile on wrist technology.

No, now a day’s watch is not considered as a time telling machine but a style statement. Just think for a while why does international watch brands are opening their franchise outlets? Simple they see huge potential in India market. Why does Titan has exclusive range of Raga watches ? Why do Ethos Swiss Watch Studios, a retail chain of exclusive Swiss watch stores plan to open more 6 store in the country.

Watches will remain watches and mobile is no answer to the watch. As on date there is 671 million users of mobiles in India but the wrist watch market is also growing in all segment of pyramid.

I always prefer wrist watch to see time and date in-spite of having other things like mobile phone and PC. But whenever I don't wear wrist watch, I have no other options than depending PC when I am at work and cell phone when I am out to see time. Even my bike's electronic speedometer shows time. But still I really find hard time to see time whenever i don't wear watch since I have to depend so many things to see time that I am not habitual of.

Cell phone is being used for reference of time, but I feel watch as an accessory will never fade out in usage. Its seen as an accessory. I cannot stay without wearing a watch. I feel something is not complete without wearing it.

People wear a watch coz for its utility, style and also for its emotional factor. The emotional factor is very important as watches are the most sought after gift by family members, friends and colleagues on special occasions. It is hard to believe that cell phone could ever bring down the sales of watch.Otherwise why would companies spend millions on celebrity endorsements for their brands. It is the unorganised watch market from China that is eating up the share of pie on the branded ones.Do you think cell phone can take on your music player, wall calendars, wall clocks, etc? Never, because aesthetic value can never be replaced.

Phones are actually small computers these days, also there's only one phone, by LG which can worn on wrist. Watch can be just looked at, for phone, you to take them out from pocket. When wrist watch was not invented, people did carried their small watches in pockets!!

Definitely Not! Watch is a wearable item. Its treated as ornament and not merely as a time-piece. When we think of ornament, it needs to be gorgeous and so becomes more presentable. There are many international brands still launching there products in India. It will never die and will managed to retain the place. I do not see any threat in coming years. Wear it, follow it... I left my watch behind several times, and it was not very convenient for example to pull out my phone just to check the time during some meeting or other occasion when I'm not at a computer where I can easily know time. I'm not going to go into the phones vs watches war, but I think watches are more convenient for telling time. Just another example when specialized device does its exact function much better than universal device with many functions.

I don't think so...... watches are the still the best time telling machines, and also its a fashion statement a lot lately and people still wear watches a lot by default and they go for these watches even when they have mobile phones with them.
