Yes. Kalmadi is the rotten tip of a totally corrupted iceberg. These scams of this magnitude can never be pulled off by one or two oddballs. It requires a gang of which the leaders are usually faceless. Look at out dear MD of Satyam or now Kalmadi - willing to court jail terms, confident of subverting the legal system, having benevolent powers (with part of the kitty) who will help in the future and lastly old age paid for with ill-gotten crores. Who cares about anybody in this situation. They have their retirement plan in place most of us don't. I am waiting for the wikileaks exposure of Indian names in the list of swiss bank accounts.

Suresh Kalmadi is the Chief of Indian Olympic Association for the last two decades. There may be others involved in this episode. But he is the person responsible for this. The bigwigs at the centre took a lenient view of the allegations leveled against Mr. Kalmadi, as usual. According to our law unless and until the allegations are proved correct, we cant call him/her a culprit. Our genius politicians making mockery of this provision. No action was taken against Kalmadi till yesterday by the Congress party. Suddenly they woke up and suspended him from the party. I dont think he has been made scope goat in this episode. He is undoubtedly a culprit. Congress party is now trying to maintain distance from this culprit. There are number of Kalmadis in the party and other parties as well. As long as the allegations are not proved they all can pose as if they are the honest persons in the world. Let them.

Yes obviously he is not the main culprit but he is one of them.It is not possible to carry out such a huge scam independently, it has been done under the umbrella of the government at the centre.They(ministers) all are an integral part of it(scam) and when the things have come out in light they have made him(kalmadi) the scapegoat.

It is diificult for anybody to conduct a robbery or crime single handedly. Kalmadi is not a scapegoat, he is in the centre of picture, unashamedly. There may be other big wigs but Kalmadi played the main role in facilitating the crime on the Nation. He must have realized that law will take its own course.

Rightly said Mr. Danke! I also feels the same, If i am not mistaken, Kalmadi was the main person incharge for the event, our P.M was just following up the progress with him, but all the subcontracts in each and every area for the event preparation approved by him and his team only.
