Ms Asmita is bit shy in admitting that she had to bribe. Why did you bribe? As few greedy cunning agents together with some RTO babus, blocked my way to get the licenses to drive my car!! So I had to bribe. If you take this issue to Our Honarubble Prime Minister, or the Finance Minister do you know before you reach them, what the chaprasi will comment and advice. “You are going to drive a car petrol is 65/- a litre, so what if you paid few hundred rupees to those ‘garib’ bhai log, they are not asking you to buy you a car for them”. As you cross tables the above content will remain the same the lingo will change. Corruption is all about creating scarcity, so Asmita’s have to bribe their way. As you say by the power of bribery!!! Way out break the Nexus, create abundance, a movement to second Independence. We have one Anna…..

I feel, RTO is the only government office not at all bothered about the development in their systems. still we do follow the old system. Even There is no regulation inbetween Driving school & brokers

RTO is one of the 'well known' dens of bribery & an unseen chain acts there from top-to-bottom (or) the other way round!!! So, one is accustomed to 'pay & use' process adopted there to get one's 'legitimate' thing done!!! I'm sure no Anna Hazare could do anything over there!!!

You will never find that a RTO officer asking you for money, that is we offering money to get a shortcut. I know it is time consuming if you are not ready to pay extra money (BRIBE), but be sure you can get anything from RTO office without extra money if your documents are OK, just it takes some time.

Always! I think that use of the word " BRIBE" should be banned, because the meaning of this word is not at all suitable in todays culture! Kharcha-pani in each and every field including RTO is taken as the service charge just like TIP that we pay in hotels! If we want to get our work done quickly, safely then we have to pay for it! As we can't avoid paying TIP in even moderate hotels for our own pressure of self respect, why should we worry of such type of negligible things! There is no another way to earn money for these peoples, that we should understand it!The laws are not suitable every time, so we have to accept it! Thanks for referral Asmita!

Went for drivers' training through Driving school & got the license without any hazel. A new information to be added: I heard in my District Head quarters, RTO visits to select professional college & issue the license on that spot on passing it. No middle man or karcha-pani. This is done on schedule basis.

Since there is no option for 'Once', I say 'Always'. I got my license through an agent for the first time. And when I went for renewal, they informed me that it was a fake license. I had the option of lodging a police complaint against the agent or applying for a fresh license. I applied for a fresh license and got it without greasing any palms. Honest people are there in RTO also even though they seem to be a rare commodity. But with the present computerisation, things have improved very much. When I went for my car license last time, I saw the process was much more streamlined and transparent. And persons (like me) were appearing for the test directy and not through an agent and succeeding in getting a license. The problem I see is that people have a preconceived opinion that things do not work without paying bribe and so they are not trying to get the licenses in a straight way. If only, they try ....
