Industry leadership of curriculum is vital since thats the place where one will function after pursuing the education. Also practical experience is much more important than only being theoretical. Industry needs to change with the changing scenario and thus the same can be imbibed at every step in bschool too.

This is true but i guess synchronization between so many companies and colleges will not be possible...So let us stick to what we have.

The rules of the game are defined by industries while academicians only put them in correct prespective

You cannot expect every industry leader a pedagogy-cum-education specialist! Industries are mostly driven on "common-sense" and not what was basically imbibed from education! After graduation, one is expected to act according to the situation, not copy cat!

It's sad to see B-School graduates from Top tier schools, having absolutely no clue of business requirements. There is no cross referencing of management sciences and how they integrate

Generally, we find B school mentors have adequate exposure to Industrial environment or even if they do not possess, the B school make it a point to gain it through indoor-training program or, mutually complimenting their exposure by field trips. So, we feel that B school academicians are quite capable to impart the required knowledge.

Also, the apex body can periodically assess their quality & capability through GAP Analysis to match the requirement. Co-lateral gaining of knowledge between B school & Industry is no harm & scope can be enriched to widen it in the curriculum.

Industry Leaders will usually be good at talking about things that are required as of today, but curriculum design needs a forward thinking perspective. The best is to be able to achieve a balance, combining the practical orientation that the Business Leaders will demand with the Idea Leadership that Academicians can facilitate.
