Health for all but why not prioritize and give focus to newborn and child care

It is important while devising health policy proper attention is given to elicit information on the different segments a country has to cater to and the accompanying costs involved. Then a study of the pros and cons of deciding on the focus to be given after prioritizing the different segments. Even the ministry should be transparently classified to implement the schemes of the Govt. When we are talking of women reservation in the parliament the health care of children and women should be left to deserving and qualified women to run and head the ministry of health at national and state levels.When we take care of children and newborn care on priority we will come across problems of nutrition and poverty. This has to be tackled appropriately with long term vision.Even health education and identifying talents and development to nurture them with skills training will help a nation in the long run.It is appalling to see some of the African nations' plight and their children' s suffering. It is time we wake up and focus our energies and resources to this segment and give right direction to this segments' welfare.

Mr. Suryanarayanamurthy is gloosing over many points when he opines on prioritizationof health care services. infact he goes on to another issue not relevant i.e. reservations.

Marketing professionals deal with various sections and categorise into segments. Segmantation is valid and useful.So from that angle one has to lok at the necessity.

where is the question of caste, religion or economic status for newborn's health care.? We can have a separate debate on affirmative action or reservations.I would suggest the portfolios of certain ministries like Health Sports and education should be exclusively reserved for the Fair sex if not atleast some levels of the ministerial berths in these areas.P.M.N.Krishnan

The idea of the above topic is supported because of the insight and due concern for the society at large.In present democraratised world is it not the duty of those in power to channel their energies in the right direction and appropriately.So even in budget estimates such anxieties should reflect appropriately.

When you say "Health for All" it is health for all irrespective of caste, creed, religion and age. Dont bring in groups here. Somebody may seek reservation in this also !!
