Growing tension in the Euro zone coupled with good return potential can attract investor’s attention towards India in the coming years. One of the reasons affecting the growth of hedge funds in India is the lack of limited liability structure. Do you think the introduction of limited liability partnership can give the much needed thrust to the hedge fund industry.

Hedge funds usually employ the limited liability structure and are turning to BRIC nations. The introduction of LLP will have a positive impact.

But the proposal in the new direct tax code for removal of foreign institutional investor regime, that will have an adverse effect on hedge funds should also be read along with this.

Right now India is low on return chart. Kindly share your views.
