Dear All The caption "INDIA SHINING" itself helps us understand that the government has done nothing to increase standard of living, and reduce the gap between haves and have nots. The caption says the process of development is in continuing mode, that means the bjp is seriously lagging behind in development of nation, because after ruling India and Indian for so long all they could says "INDIA SHINING", ideally after running the nation for close to a decade they should have been able to make a claim which says that we are a developed nation and not a developing nation. BJP Clowns themselves have now with this caption agreed that they have not been able to make India a developed nation, and are still terming India as a developing nation. Apni Aakal Lagao, dikavey pay math jao. Support any other party this time, but not BJP. Because if people elect these BJP for next five years also then we would be singing "HO GAYA BHARAT BARBAD", "KHO GAYA BHARAT FOR EVER" Regards Munshi

BJP's affection for Sardar Patel - a drunken man's attitude! Jaswant Singh came out combative and unbending a day after he was sacked from the BJP, trashing his former party’s argument that he had violated its “core” ideology by criticising Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, reminding it that it was Patel who first banned the RSS in the aftermath of the Mahatma’s assassination. “I don’t know which part of the core belief has been demolished. Patel, what is so core about him? Patel was the first one to ban the RSS and imprison RSS workers (in February 1948). But he did not ban the Muslim League,” Singh said.

India Shining and Feel Good Factor According to the diplomatic cable, BJP’s national executive member Seshadri Chari told an US embassy official in Delhi in December 2005 “not to read too much into the foreign policy resolution passed by the BJP especially the parts related to the US”, which had attacked the UPA’s “subservience” to Washington. “Chari dismissed the statement (resolution) as standard practice aimed at scoring easy political points against the UPA.

It is indeed. We can witness tremendous growth in the infrastructure. We are aware of the rapid grip of IT sector in India. We are a big concern in intellectual standard for USA and developed nations. We can see more BMWs and other luxury cars on the roads and even Porsche and Lamborghini. We are looking at our works been recommended and endorsed by other nations. The manufacturers of great technical and mechanical parts and equipment are getting interested in opening it's unit in India. We are indeed the fastest growing economy in the world. Our youth is more advanced and updated in present scenario. Never to forget that we have the best medical facility available for us but we do not care for that or give importance rather we are cynical about the foreign treatment.

I CAN'T SEE ANY KIND OF DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA. STILL MANY FARMERS WAIT FOR MONTHS TO GET THE LOAN SANCTIONED IN VILLAGES. THE MENACE OF INADEQUATE SUPPLY OF WATER TO THEIR FIELDS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE MATTER OF CONCERN. A CRIPPLED PATIENT IN GOVERNMENT GENERAL HOSPITAL WAITS FOR A LONG HOURS IN A QUEUE TO GET MEDICINES. STREETS ARE LEFT IN DARKNESS, WHICH STRIKES PANIC FOR PEDESTRIANS. SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ASK FOR EXORBITANT MONEY FOR ADMISSIONS. CRIME RATES ARE INCREASING DAY-BY-DAY IN THE CITIES, OF COURSE, POLICE DEPARTMENT IS FLAWLESS IN APPREHENDING THE CRIMINALS, BUT ALWAYS INDULGES IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES LIKE BRIBING, THEY ARE LAWLESS BUT FLAWLESS. A FEW MONTHS AGO AN IAS OFFICER WAS GUNNED DOWN BY UNKNOWN PERSONS, THE REASON BEHIND THE MURDER WAS, HE CAUGHT A GROUP OF PERSONS, WHILE THE INTOXICANTS WERE BEING MADE IN A FOREST.
WHEN IT COMES TO IT SECTOR I CAN SAY IT IS UPTO THE MARK, IT HAS ALWAYS HAD CONSTANT DEVELOPMENT. THANKS FOR REFERRAL..... (COMMENT EDITED)

Mr. Thackeray will not allow......read this: "...Thackeray warned of a public backlash if Marathi was not respected in Mumbai. @Murari There is no point in blaming me if I am exposing the goofiness of Hindutva people, I am just reminding common man of who these hindutva people are. I was a man who was NEVER interested in Indian Politics. Then, how did I become like this, will be your question - Well, Some people started harassing me for their own fictitious reasons. It went on for 1 year, 2,3....all the way up to 29th year. Many times, I tried to make peace with these people but they will not listen.... Murari: INC has admitted many times that some of its policies in punjab did go wrong. Hence, INC is not putting a fake mask like the hindutva people. Banning akalis - there wasn't much evidence for a ban. There were plenty of evidences to ban the RSS. They created trouble left and right.

Ramchand: as you always try to become MEDIA and target BJP as non-secular in all the comments here is something for you in reply to your diplomatic cable. The fifth volume of the series 'A Centenary History of the Indian National Congress' makes critical observations on "dirty politics" in the name of religion in Punjab that it concluded was one of the factors for terrorism and the Khalistan agitation in Punjab.
"Dirty politics and the use of religion for political ends clearly boomeranged on the Akali and Congress leadership with diastrous consequences for the Sikh community and the Indian state" the book says commenting on the situation in the aftermath of the Operation Blue Star.
Noting that Congress emerged as the single largest party in the state assembly in the 1972 elections and formed a government headed by Zail Singh, the book says, "by introducing a reilgious tone to Punjab politics, Giani succeeded to a great extent in weakening the Akalis. But the result--growing communalisation of provincial politics--was disastrous."
The book notes that Zail Singh organised one of the biggest religious processions "in order to secure Sikh votes for Congress".
In the chapter "Indira Gandhi: An Overview" the book says that Zail Singh, who was Congress Chief Minister of Punjab in the 1970s - and first Home Minister in Indira's 1980 cabinet and later still the country's President - had "unwisely" but ostensibly "tried to steal Akalis's clothes" by pandering heavily to religious sentiments of Sikhs."
"Zail Singh, in complete collaboration with Sanjay, picked up a relatively obscure young and fundamentalist lay preacher named Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale with a view to building him up as a rival to the Akali leadership.
"It is inconceivable that they could have done so without Indira Gandhi's consent. Sanjay and Zail Singh believed that by advocating extremist causes, the young preacher could embarrass the Akali Dal. Precisely the reverse happened. Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale originally planted by Giani Zail Singh to weaken the Akalis, had outgrown his shoes," the book said.
Congress has, however, distanced itself from the views expressed in the book, saying there is no official book about the party's history. The book further notes "the tragedy of Punjab politics is that, in competition for votes both the Congress and the Akalis have started making emotional appeals to the Sikh electorate by taking communal issues as was done by Giani Zail Singh. This politics of vote bank is fast eroding the secular space for political arena in Punjab, which is a dangerous signal."
Referring to the coming back to power of Indira Gandhi in 1980 post the Janata Party government experiment after Emergency, the book notes that Indira Gandhi "nursed a grudge" against Prakash Singh Badal who was then leading the Akali government in Punjab, which she later dismissed.
It said that Badal had earlier let it be known that if left undisturbed he would extend full cooperation to the Congress government at the Centre.
"Indira Gandhi nursed a grudge against Badal for his having joined hands with the Opposition and launching Akali Morcha against the Emergency. And this the Akalis did in spite of the fact that while banning RSS and other communal organizations, Akali Dal remained untouched. double standards and hypocrisy in your langauge.

Monika, firstly we need to achieve 100 percent literacy, what percentage of students get 100 percent marks this will only add unnecessary pressure on the students where they would only focus on scoring marks rather than the real education and knowledge, do you want that kind of educational development. How can it be the best thing? The best thing would be to teach and educate them adequately so that they can pursue career in any of the available fields.

I think all the discussions here are worthless, just wastage of time and energy? What is the outcome? We all want to be expert in discussing and gossiping? For some India is advancing like anything and for some it is moving in a backward direction. In my opinion one’s knowledge cannot go beyond one’s experience. Young people who have not seen another (darker) side of life cannot realise so many things. Our younger generation is more knowledgeable and well informed so they do not have any respect for experience. So we cannot come to a consensus. The generation gap will create only tensions and it is needless to tell that we cannot achieve anything. Does 10% of Indian population constitute India? Whether this Nirman you are talking about is a new Nirman or the Nirman which started after independence of India? Nirman is just impossible without demolishing the old foundation/base.
