Hockey is our national game and Cricket is the popular game. Govt. has the responsibility to promote our national game. I congratulate Indian Hockey Team for winning the Asia cup defeating our arch rival and neighbour Pakistan. With disappointing performance, the popular game is seems to have losing is its sheen. Ofcourse, if the team could come back to winning track, it has the ability rule the hearts once again. Its still my favourite game.

It’s our national game and we should support it ,As in recent years hockey is making its way back again.......cricket is most popular game in India, i think, we are pampering cricket too much, if we keep competition between cricket and hockey games, who will win most of the matches the funds will get transfer to that particular game in a year....for this the product launchers should also co- operate to make player's play more efficiently. I have played hockey and I am great fan cricket. But still i feel this competition may bring some fruitful improvement. People should encourage those one who play best.

Hockey Players don't get advertisement contracts so they can fully concentrate on their core skills ie playing Hockey. While Crickers have to have extra-curricular skills like promoting products, services, reality show participation etc.Hence they can't concentrate on their core skills ie playing Cricket, unless it is slow turning pitches which help only spinners but of course not on bouncy pitch where runs cannot be made without dedicated efforts.

My choose is Hockey, I have played this game both in school and college level. I do not know why our national game is now in the back seat. I feel games like hockey, football, basket ball which more stimulating results are not getting proper dues.

Yes,hip, hip, hurray, for the unsung heroes of India, strangely no channel deemed it fit to telecast the match, while the 'losing' cricket matches were on 3 channels,oh,when will my country be freed from the desert quicksand of cricket which is dragging us inexorably into oblivion in the 'real' world of sports.

Himanshu about cricket yes. Since the starting of IPL all Indian cricket players are looking to make money, which is sad but true and if IPL continues a day will come for India to beat even say Holland in cricket. The Hockey on the other side is National Game and fast in nature and really refereshing to watch, which also misses out on big money hence a genuine game play. Having said this I will now on prefer to watch Hockey than cricket.

Too much advertisement money lures and excess money has spoiled cricket to an extent it is beginning to look unreal. Hockey still involves passion and commitment.

Obviously Hockey is the temporary balm to hurt an wounded soul. And with the victory coming over our arch rivals Pakistan, it is all the more sweeter. But the heart is still with Cricket. To describe it in a phrase: The mind roots for hockey but the heart tugs you to cricket instead !

The media is very short-sighted. They are hurting themselves. They can make a lot of money from ALL sports if they publicize all sports events properly. Unfortunately for the other sports, one of cricket's advantages is that it is a team sport that can be played with the minimum of equipment i.e. just a bat and a ball. In fact, I remember playing cricket in the classroom using a notebook as a bat and a wad of paper as a ball! This makes cricket a lot of fun anywhere - for a lot of people. The other advantage of cricket is that it's a lazy game. While one has to keep moving in other sports e.g. football (which needs just a ball), in cricket, a person can stay in one place and still feel that he/she is playing. :D Ha ha ha ha!
