Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that it's time to restructure the Ministry of Home Affairs, and came out with a plan that the Ministry of Home Affairs should be divided. Those issues with no connection with terror ..should not be with the Home Minister. The Home Ministry should devote time only to internal security, was what he said.

Chidambaram also called for a new format of security agencies to deal with terrorism.  He highlighted the need for a central command structure during large-scale attacks like 26/11, and come up with something like National Counter-Terrorism Centre which handles all the terrorism related issues.

So what do you think Guys, should Home ministry be split?

I think yes the Home ministry should be split and every time there is a security lapse its blamed directly on Home minister, and then everybody asks for his resignation than solving the issue, and Home ministry doesn't even have a proper department which handles all these things, and what P. Chidambaram has said is valid and there is a need for something like National counter terrorism center, even US had something like this after the 9/11 incident and they did it in 36 months, and even India should have a better center which works on all the terrorism related issues, as there are more and more insurgnecies activity which is happening near the border, and we should also keep a vigil on foreigners who are there in the country, after the David headley case, who travelled in India on many occassions before the 26/11 incident and nobody had a clue about it, so yes Home ministry should be split.
