indian pharma industry is growing by leaps and bounds as fas as generics are concerned,But it will take us to a certain stage beyond which only innovation can lead us.This is an innovation led industry so we got to concentrate on R&D so that we continue in our growth journey.

Being innovators is not so easy. We don't have those level of infrastructure right at this moment. First we have to make that type of infrastructure and knowledge pool like in other countries and once they are there, we can definitely become innovators.

Real research in India is missing due many reasons such as infra structure, funding(government and private), dedicated scientists. Young generation is not interested in research in pharma or life science due to the less pay when comparable to the IT professionals even though we are more qualified than them. Govt. is also giving more importance to that instead of health and life science research.

lets hope this scene will change in near future.
