A very thoughful post. Indeed the freshers are getting affected tremendously due to the recession. All companies are trying to cut cost, they are even terminating the services of experienced candidates, and in case of freshers, we know that they need some grooming by the organization to be fully involved in projects and most companies are not prepared to spend for their grooming.
We have also seen that most companies are not oing campusing now due to recession, so it holds that it is indeed tough time for the freshers.

I disagree this. Kisssing up ur boss is not needed if u have talent and faith in urself.
even if the person have confident in himself also it won't work untile the boss notice him about his work.
Kissing up ur boss is nessary to go a head and to get higher position.. In my exp i have seen so many persons who have good  knowledge in his/her field. Even though if they don't know how to handle boss will makes them failer in getting promotion.
