In the past, I handled few teams for college level competition and class level aasignment. First and foremost I would say People management will play a key role in team success. I try to understand my people always... used to seggregate people based on their capacity, knowledge and their behaviour. In first two I didnt find any difficulty... when it comes to behaviour completely depends upon the people and how you are handling them. For that I used to spend a bit extra time with them and try to know whats their problems... Sometimes I used to appreciate them... sometimes I yell at them... but before you should know how they will take it.... Now I am working as an Engineer and handling more about 20 rough people... If you say anything against them, they will not work... when I joined the company I spent first one week for closely watching those people... And mapped out how i would approach them if I want the things getting done... I went to them during break time and cracked few jokes... followed the principle of participative management... Now I am slowly taking control over them.... All I am saying is... Understand your Team members.... And you will get things done at time...

@ Karthik Sai, I do agree but I wonder how you "develop rapports ...". Morphopsychology can bring you tools and ways to know each member of the team better and develop a real knowledge to help them keep the direction toward the goal.

I fully endorse the idea as there is no management theory for managing people. The best philosophy is to orient the goals of the team in the right direction, ensure ground rules before start of execution, develop rapport with team members and most of all be firm and clear in setting the goals for the team. If the team starts respecting you for what you are doing, then managing the team is half done.

Yes Mr Manish Gaurav, you are right I talk only about human relation and I notice I'm the only one here to talk about this point. I am not distracted at all I am concerned with this part of managing because I spent nearly all my life dealing with personal relations. For instance when somebody explain he has to ask the team so and so for instance no body describe the way of doing it. We are all concerned by inter personal communication but nobody talk about that very point. If that one is not according with what you want to do you can be sure that nothing is possible. I'm old but I don' loose the focus I have in mind. I see we are not concerned by the same things. You talk theory I talk human. I don't want to ofend you Mr Manish Gaurav I just show my point of view and I do understand what you talk about. Effectively our discussions are on different levels.

My answer is Professional & Personal both if you please try to understand ... Business point of view for the successful realization of results of any operation both Professional & Personal approach is must…

The feeling ‘We’ generates in those members who are stable in their job, know their part of duty to be functioned, are ambitious, goal oriented & know their value as a team member with expertise in the role to be performed... At beginning all there is an IDEA. For a Team its not always possible to have the same point of view by every member...every individual has his own ideas according to his expertise & experience...So that all the points are well discussed and then the Team comes to a particular conclusion which is more logical & ethical...Then the goals are set which becomes acceptable by all members of a Team. Every member of a team has different opinion and different points to argue...So, it’s not possible to put the same argument again & again or also can’t be the same example for everyone. Hence all members should be dealt individually...

It is a good schedule but how do you manage the team and drive everybody to have the same goal. Do they agree right away or have you to argue? Do you use the same arguments for the whole team at once or do you choose arguments for each participant?

I thought it was not so difficult to deal with members of a team as soon as we all have the same target. I was young at that time. I had to change and negociate with people.
