Here SAP Came with APO and implimenting all the Operation management (OM)techniques . But what i feel is OM Techniques(Forecasting,Assignment , transportation )are extensively used .Compared with previous versions, SAP Improved very lot. Mostly FMCG companies are benefited very lot. Day to day they needs Sales forecast,Minimising Operations Lead Time (Procurement, Manufacturing, Tranasportation ). If i come to implimenting Business Process Reengineering in SAP software solutions , Techniques like forecasting is very well improved. But In product maintenance and all, it needs to be focus much.There is lot of discrepancy with in SAP.Actually Business and IT should come up and should remove the discrepancy . As you know any Business organisation effectiveness will be improved, based on Better utilisation of SCM Practises. The more the Lead time whether it is in MFG or in Distribution Systems, It will impact Orgainisation very much either in Profits and Customer service. So my view here is Business should always give tough practises to IT,whether it is to SAP or Oracle. Then only BPR will be much implimented in Software solutions.All Business Orgainsations main motive is Profits and Customer Service.But while integrating Business req in Software solutions,IT Products are not fully capable. That is the reason,we are having different legacy systems and more IT Maintenance and it became burden to organization. Any IT product whether it is SAP or Oracle should come with fully integrated system.for ex,Material Planning is comming with some other IT systems like Xelus ,even though SAP is capable of handling it. Still i can't believe why Orgainsations are using two different IT Products.It becomes more innovative cost and eating up profits.Here applications are increasing, data maintenance, cost Measures etc.. every thing is piling up.Here as a Business Analyst/IT architect ....should focus mostly on Cost reduction of IT systems and should always have Reenginering(Second thought)to impliment better practices .
