Parents lay too much emphasis on the children securing high marks in the examinations at cost of other soft skills. As a result a child may be intelligent & may have secured high marks but is unable to get a good job because he/she lacks skills like communication skills, aptitude for team working & many other soft skills.

How justified is this emphasis on high marks & do the students who are brilliant in studies  succeed in life?

Yes you are perfectly correct. high marks will help us to go to the entry level. Though you are placed in well-known company, You can't survive untill you perform well and get good experience. So where ever you go, Hardwork matters:)

Yes, it is sure. But, to pass the recruiters screening test, you are expected to get 60%+ marks. Once you are in, it is your ability to speak boldly.

Marks are useful for the entry level jobs. Later on, it is your experience and subject knowledge that keeps you moving up.

In my view high marks are not necessary for success in professional life. Soft skills like communication skills, positive attitude, adaptability, peoples skils & willingness to learn new things are more important

Businesses are run to satisfy clients & teams are made to find the best possible ways in which clients can be satisfied. So in my views we can't really separate these two things.Team satisfaction leads to client satisfaction.
The best way: Put yourself in his or her place & try to think why the client is behaving in a nasty manner. Your response will be better.
