How real is love at first sight?

Guys I am wondering whether love at first sight is a real thing or not...how can one fall in love by looking at the person for the first time. This is insane, and its just that films and novels show something which is impossible. So, would like to know from others like, How real is love at first sight?

I don't think there is something called as love at first sight. Its very difficult in today's times, people take years together to make a marriage successful or falling in love with the person whom they have got married to and love at first sight its just pure fiction I suppose.

 I guess this part of the debate should have the heading as “Attraction at first sight”. It is indeed attraction at first sight which MAY gradually progresses to love and this is mistaken as “Love at First Sight”. At times, after getting to know the person over a period of time, the relationship may break because of various factors. Hence, Attraction is a “feeling” towards someone or something.

As used colloquially, love has several levels such as “Deeply in Love...” or “Madly in Love...” or “I love this...” or “I love that” or “I kind of love...”, etc. Each has its own percentage of strength and displays the desperation of the person who is stating these words. “I kind of love her” is less desperate than “I am madly in love with her” and so on.

So whenever I get attracted to the woman towards whom I have a “feeling” I enjoy the moment... Only know that this isn’t love and I have other commitments and come back soon into reality.

Yes Love at first sight is real. I was brought in a conservative and highly disciplined family where nobody could think of the word"love" I was about 13-14 years old and developed a deep attraction towards a young girl of my neighborhood who was even younger to me.We always wanted to see each other all the time and whenever we got an opportunity we never liked to miss it. Now I am over 66 years and still I remember that sweet girl, who I understand is no more in this world. This I came to know only a few years back. Was it not a love at first sight

there is nothing like love at first sight. In todays world, younger generations hardly pay any time towards their parents. so, how can we say that younger generations will give importance to love at first sight. Secondly, I would say its just an attraction or an infactuation.

Even at the tenth sight, I think you would still wonder why you are not falling in love...because you are actually wearing fastrack that keeps your love at bay for your sight to make hay when the girl shines...one by one.So move on guys...Dont fall in love.Just enjoy the moment and wait for another.

Kiran I agree with you no love can happen at first sight. it is only calf love that at some ages someone may like a particular person more than others.

In earlier days the child marriage used to be go of the day keeping that in mind probably we still say love at first sight.

It could be only attraction nothing else. Love is not limited only to the face or an expression that one can have on first sight. Love means respect, friendship, caring, devotion n all. Its just impossible at first, second or even 5-10 sight. It need some time to spend together n understand. Otherwise it will feint as the time passes.

Until & unless you understand like & dislikes, behaviour, emotional touch, understanding each other very well there is no love, it may be attraction. Most cases in love at first sight get break-up very early.
