Hi Vidya,

I think a web designer should develop their design by keeping the user in mind. Because they are the one who are gong to use it. So it would be better if you develop something that is user friendly.

Designing for the web means designing sympathetically with the way people actually use the web, not how we think they should.

You should be able to look at the home page of any site and figure out what the site is about within four seconds. If you can't, the site is a failure.

Web sites should be pleasant, easy, and appealing to use.

Instead of using graphics just for the sake of it, does the designer use graphics purposefully to organize the page and to direct a visitor's attention to important points?

While designing it should give you the insight into where and how to apply your graphic for optimum success!

Navigation must be simple and consistent.Instead of asking, "Does this site look good?" ask, "Would this site make me want to buy a product if I was in that site's target market?"

Yes I too agree, but to me more specific not only as per the customer requirements rather as a end user who may not have the business knowledge also.
