IT IS SO SIMPLE THAT INSTEAD OF TOUCHING HIS EGO PRAISE HIS EGO. BELLOW ARE SOME QUOTES WHICH I THINK WOULD B OF MUCH INTERESTS TO ALL OF US. A PERSON HAVING MORE THAN TWO BOSSES IS LIKE A PAWN IN THE GAME OF CHESS. WHEN TWO INTELLECTUAL MEET THERE IS ALWAYS A FRICTION.

Without any efficiancy, no body can become a 'boss', may be accaptance of the said 'boss' to his sub-ordinates vary.If boss is not liked, it is better to ignore/be calm.

It is always better to ignore the inefficient boss and do your work efficiently and effectively so that the management recognises your efficeint and effective work and at the appropriate time bring the inefficeint boss to the notice of the management..Good and efficient work always has recognition but politics is danger in organisation. Hence it is good to do a team work where entire team work is recognised.

In the rat race you will always report to a better rat in the system. There is nothing you can do about it. The only answer is to keep looking at his strengths and try not to pinch his shortcomings . You cant report to their boss the reason is he is a better version of this version .Either you move on or enjoy watching this Indian Corporate Rambo Circus :-) . Please read Animal Farm by George Orwell there are Cats who least concerned.

Reporting it to his Boss may seem to be the right option but has to be done using an open door policy at an appropriate time and platform..

since you are not competent to assess your boss who allegedly seems to be inefficient, you have to be calm and let his/her boss notice the output being given by his/her subordinate (Your boss). He has got power/competence to take the notice of the inefficiency on the part of his staff/officers.

I agree with Om, you boss's inefficiency gives you a chance to move ahead in your career. Don't always ignore, but report at the right time, like hammer when the rod is hot, who knows when you can get lucky enough to climb the ladder with your efficiency and hard work. Daxesh Khajanchi

Reporting your bosses inefficiency is the last thing you should do. Only a naive person or a fresher who does not quite understand corporate culture would take such a step :) Because, if your boss finds out or even gets a hint that you have reported him that would be like getting on the wrong side of his/her ego. Once you are on the wrong side, you will be stamped down and harassed at the first opportunity available to your boss, which is not a good position to be in. You have to handle such a situation very smartly. Your bosses inefficiency is a golden opportunity for you to highlight your performance/achievement and the value that you bring to the team. Showcase your value and build rapport with others in your organization. Regards, Om Deshpande

first put yourself as boss, every boss knows or should known that what my employees want from him as a boss, if he is inefficient how can a company grow and satisfy its employee. feel like an employee, one wants three terms- career growth, endless relations with boss, peers & colleagues and satisfaction. if his boss is not able to give these then employee will not be so long with organization. so better is on both front that if boss is inefficient then either discuss with him to change or report to his boss who can push him to change ( to be efficient) regards- Santosh

End of the day, the target should be accomplishment of the organizational and personal goals... If the immediate boss is inefficient, skip level is a good option always.. It is in the interest of everyone..

Initially I am of your type of person. That is ignore. But after having some experience in HRD, I started to believe in the statement that Power is not given to you by somebody. It is the measure what you try. Hence, I tried to surpass my inefficient boss and do what he dislike. First time, it is warned and reaction is less. Second time a little forcible, some reaction found outside and some comments me positively. Though some criticises with my boss, some wonder that how you too act boldly like this. This time matter goes to CEO. As he is a mature person, he rightly understand my furiosity to do things rightly. Hence I got recognised by him. Thereafter, my boss never leave me alone to adventures. He wish to take part in my ventures he openly declares. But still his inefficiency will lead the failure of my task. I am now taking projects untimely, unexpectedly, unseen ways and see unseen angles. This is the secret of my success. The most stressless executive in our concern is mine. I like my job for this characteristic only. ok? Call me for further details, 09345964864

You can't report inefficiency of your boss directly to his boss. You may be correct in your judgement but ethically or professionally you can not report it directly. It is better to keep your boss's boss in loop whenever you feel an opinion difference with your boss. It will make a difference and you will be noticed. Rest is not your part....

Very true. We should surely report to the Boss'es Boss. And we should also keep him into the loop regarding any communication with our boss. We should mark him CC for any project / work alloted to you.
