Govt has informed SC about derecognising 44 deemed universities which will effect lakhs of students enrolled in them. The problem is corruption and greed which has created such a large problem which is making the education a money spinning business. The government should permit private enterprise into education doing away from the present "Societies and Trust" which only make profits to private parties. Let private make profits transparently.

I do not agree that these universities should be undertaken by the government bodies and i am also not in favour of de-recognizing these as lakhs of students life will be on stake.

As we know the condition of the infrastructure and other facilities provided by the the gov run colleges(except few). and this makes the students life quite miserable n hav to arrange for everything on their own...whereas the deemed univ though a bit costly  provide enough infrastructure for a student to deliver best.

so i suggest that govt should just have an eye on these univ and try to fullfill the loopholes by providing aid(in all respect) till they are well enough to be recognized as deemed.

I am not in the favour of de-recognising the universities but I'd also say, taking away hands of government also won't work since a Government's recognising has a lot of value. I'd suggest government not to take their recognition, rather they can be declared under Government universities if government doesn't want them to be known as deemed. In this way, neither the students enrolled in those universities will be effected, nor SC will suffer in any way...

Education should be given to all those who desire adn wish to have , we are taliking about the university education and not basic education whish is a must

In university only the deserving get in and they must be given what will help them shape their future

If govt controls the education then there will be

1) reservation

2) Quotas

3) Pressure to take certaisn students because of their contacts

4) Biased attitude towards certain community

Instead if the university is autonomus then only deserving candidates get in

Only point needs to be noted is the same are not too expensive and out of reach of the candidates who deserve to be in

The government control and authority to ensure quality has failed. This has led to shortage of college seats and ushered in capitation fees. Government denies it and it is an open secret that it exists. The capitation fees or donations without receipts in various colleges for engineering and medical seats is well known to every student of this country. The present arrangement helps the officials and politicians to make money while sanctioning and monitoring year after year. Time has come to let go the sector and increase supply so that only the best survives.

yes. government should have control over it. But most of the universities are run by politicians only. So, in practice that will not happen unless students and parents press for it. On the govt side it should set up an expert committe, really comprising of experts, not with any political leneance. The aim should be improving technical education.

I fully agree with Sarika Singh - Government should not hesitate taking over these trusts and societies, which anyway are public bodies as per law, just like it has control over temples. Alternatively Government should appoint their representatives into these trust boards on rotation and all accounts published in the website of the deemed universities.
