The import duty on such cars is less. It is an answer to increasing fuel prices and it reduces pollution. If more and more people buy such cars it would be beneficial in many ways.

"CARS OF THE ERA"

THE WHOLE WORLD IS GOING GAGA OVER THIS CAR AND IT IS ECO-FRIENDLY AS WELL. THE NOTEWORTHY POINT IS WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR BATTERIES START CHARGING AUTOMATICALLY, THAT MEANS THERE WILL NO SHORTAGE OF POWER IN THE CAR SINCE THIS UNIQUE OPTION DOES NOT LET THE BATTERY EXHAUST AND IT RUNS MUCH FASTER THAN THE ELECTRIC CARS.

OBVIOUSLY IT SOLVES THE PROBLEM AS THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HIKE IN PETROL AND DIESEL PRICES, WHO WOULD PREFER TO PURCHASE SUCH THINGS WHICH HAVE NO STABILITY, WHEREAS HYBRID CARS TENFOLD BETTER THAN PETROL AND DIESEL.

Mridula I agree with you on the subject but incase those cars are manufactured in India the duty will be waive off completely and thus it will be an affordable car and beneficial to the environment as well as the user.

Electric-Fuel Hybrid technology is the first step to decrease the pollution at minimum level. Its also provide some pollution itself but its percentage is near to 5% to 10% than the gasoline engine considering the millage. even if we are used with LiFePo4 batteries then the power wait ratio is considerably high and Eco friendlily as well as cost effective and not higher than Li=Ion battery cost. But one thing we can say that Electric-Fuel Hybrid engines are not the fully Eco friendly vehicle it provides some Co2 gas to the atmosphere when the battery pack Is depleted. So it is a Minimum level pollution vehicle. But in Future We need 100% Eco friendly vehicle, for that we can Use Hydrogen Vehicle(Fuel cell), or Electric Hydraulics Hybrid engines. What ever our first goal is to develop the minimum level pollution vehicles like Electric-Fuel Hybrid engines after that we can change to Hydraulic Hybrid or fuel cell vehicles. But regarding to the price the most good technology is hydraulic hybrid technology. And as Initial level I suggest the Electric Fuel Hybrid Engines for automobiles, It gives more energy saving as well as reliability for the production. Obviously I can say that hybrid engines are the better solution for pollution-less, economical, high efficiency, millage, and energy saving technology now been adopted And I strongly support the hybrid vehicles.

Most certainly it is the future. Plus it solves the pollution issues to a great extent and the roads would be a lot safer as these cars cant be ripped at great speeds as internal combustion engines are being ripped now.

such a vehicle is part of the solution. They cannot be the total solution. What we need is a revolutionary way of moving the vehicles. Something other than internal combustion. Most solutions available today only shift the burden to other utilities like electric, LPG etc which are already hard pressed and low in supply.
