hello Himanshu,this is not the right question even to imagine! we are simply ignoring and dis-respecting the freedom struggle entirely.British may be good in all aspects but socio-political scenarios will difer from region to region.country's administration should be apt to its own citizens and finally it is the citizens who rule and that's where law of land emerges.if our politicians are very corrupt, then it is in our hands to throw them out as there is no mechanical system available in entire universe for eradication of this evil called corruption.

Without commenting on weather or not it be better or worse.

I would like to draw the attention of participants to know that "Simply calling oneself liberated is not democracy". Most Rules and regulations are from same period, so are the powers and lack of accountability with governance. Thus while, color may have changed the ruler is still almost alien else we would not have such disparity and low respect for humans. To top it lack of self discipline has further eroded whatever values we had.

As Mr. Narayana Murthy, Mentor & Chairman Emeritus of INFOSYS, has rightly put it - India over the past 1000 years from 1000 AD to 2000 AD, barring 53 years, have learned to take orders from the rulers and have not learned to take decisions. He said he had attended over 36 conferences and a number of high-power committee meetings for 26 years to build a Captive Power Plant in Karnataka, but is still a dream, as none of the political masters and the bureaucrats allowed the decision to be taken. I think we have not learned to rule even after 63 years of independence. The visible example is the functioning of our UPA Government - cabinet ministers dictating terms to our PM!

Yes absolutely right.... I am agree with U. due to the support of our peoples English ruled over India..and how greedy and corrupt we are it is exposed in the world...this is the time like Egypt throw out this ugly and corrupt face of Democracy....

In my opinion India would have been a better place to live with the British Rule. Just compare the wealth that was stolen when they ruled us for 100yrs....its not even 0.1% of the money that the filthy and selfish Indians have stolen from India and saved in banks across the world. British people like discipline & hated corruption....but India is recognized for corruption and indiscipline....
