If i would be the first time owner, i prefer the freehold property rather then a flat of equivalent. May I afford to be on out skirts but in view of long term the valuation will definately be more in comparison to flats in apartment. Far may be in outskirt but peice and if you save money the city centre can be traveled regularly. First time investments prperty must be beleived for long term.

Jyoti i agree everyone prefer freehold house. But It depends on various factor to own a bungalow like cities, area, savings, conveyance & locality as well as size of family. Costly property in Cities like Metros, how convenient to travel daily, locality for you family mainly for children & house wives. All these factors influence the decision of a person to buy house for family.

I think that  flat is more preferable. It makes us a feeling of living in a society where interaction is done with different  people, also safety factor is more than living in individual houses .
