hello Kiran,nowadays they can't be called a weaker sex not just they are competing with males in every fields but to their determination for gaining place for themselves.still there are some basic differences that persists which nature has a final say which can't be diluted.

These all are farces thanks to our politicians. On one side they say everyone is equal, on the other side they devide people by offering reservations. Women are equal to men in all respect. They should be treated likewise.

Yes.They are very good in profession . Skills are nicely honed to the requirement, then , no doubt, they excel men. They are weaker in the sense that they are producing the new generation. Not only that, they rear them with good qualities and education.Anatomically, they soft but, with due physical training can be made tough like men. Also, they are weaker, because Indian society exploited them with various dogmas.

We males don't have to write long comments to prove women are weaker sex. They simply are. We they aren't why are they a deprived gender?
Historically women are deprived. Why?? Any Ideas? Why were man not deprived?? because women are a weaker sex.

Very rightfully said. In fact women are not the weaker sex by any length of imagination. They use that today to progress in a male dominated society. And when it suits them to switch hats to be potrayed as the weaker sex. Why must they be given preference in a line at a shop or in the bus stand etc. I can understand giving preference to the sick and infirm but not to women who are hale and hearty. When it comes to instances like the above they argue that they are the weaker sex but when it comes to their career or any such instance where they feel they are unable to compete on level terms, they claim the equal treatment mode.

Even in the 21st Century calling women a weaker sex, is TOO ironic. Women have marked their capabilites not only in this world but also in Space.Both men and women are born with equal talents.And it is only the opportunities given to them which makes a difference. We should make a step towards removing this misconcept of declaring women a weaker sex and instead encourge the society which brings equal opportunities and platform for both male and females.

No I am not ready to accept that women are weak or pseudo smart and stuff like that. Because to me strength and weakness are relative to the environment you are in or the work you are doing. Physically speaking most of the men can not walk as much as a tribal women of west Gujarat can. Go in hills, women do all kind of work even agriculture, and more than men. Talking mentally we all know that sharpness of mind has got nothing to do with gender. Talking emotionally, although they weep very soon but it is proven that weeping keeps them in a better emotional control than men. Most of the widow women are capable of controling their life, most of the time without second marriage (at least in India) but men get devastated and need another women..not just for sex but for cooking also. I also dont want to say that men are weaker than women but God has made both with their own strengths and their seems no point in comparing them with each other or calling one of them weak. I can agree with Mr. Reddy when he talks about asking preferences and special favours at public places but only when we can make sure that we have really created a sfe and equal society for them. Men have been trying to dominate women just because of their physical strength..this fact can not be negated.

In the beginning, I would like to clear one thing, i.e I am not a Male chauvinist or anything. Coming to the topic, I don't think Woman today is a weaker sex any more. Now a days woman are performing and have can do attitute. We cannnot ignore the importance and her contribution in any types of activity either as a housewife or working woman.But one thing that i would like to mention here, when we have some tough work to finish woman takes back seat and man are bound to do that job. I think now this concept should be changed. Now that is clear the so called equality of women is the same as the caste problem in India. They say that they want reservation because they are backward and if anyone points the same thing they fight for equality. In this case also women when comes to the benefits they fight for the equality but when it comes to certain things which they don't like then they come up with weird arguments like we are girls and we are not supposed to do this, that is a man's job and all... so in my opinion they just want to convince the male community that they are equal to them and keep acting the same way they are doing now....correct me if I am wrong. So no more reservation in school, college, Assembly, Bus, Metro etc. She should be traeted equally like man should be for them. :-)
