Definitely companies would be very pleased this year to receive a call from IIM's. Statistics show that this year almost 800 companies have been inivited to the campus of IIM for placements.

This is the year when companies will have a chance to negotiate with the top instituteslike IIM, Students could be hired for comparatively low price.

If you plan to hire them for a very short term,which I don't suggest somebody should in current scenario, whatever you have put forth may be valid but for a long term approach it should  always be  seen that they are paid competitatively what they are worth because market is already in up swing mode and they are always going to have better prospects.In that case your company may end up being just a launch pad.

Though they might have got invitation from the campuses but they will not be able to negotiate much, at the end of the day IIM's matter to companies.
