Though machinery can perform a task much faster, but in a country like India, we cannot ignore manpower. A machinery can stop or get damaged at any moment at that time a labour helps. We cannot carry heavy machineries to distant areas but can easily carry cheap labourers very easily...

I do support the idea of mechanization to the maximum extent possible. It is more rational keeping in mind the time value of money.

However we must consider the following –

  1. The time of construction.
  2. Allocated cost.
  3. Availability and ease of mobilization of machinery or manual labour.
  4. The socio-economic scenario of the area where the project is being done.
  5. Last but not the least the quality standards that needs to be achieved.

The use of equipments where it is available is always gives advantage in terms of money and time. It will also helpful for quality outputs. Ina long run, if we analyse, we can find that the mannual labour will gain more benifits due to use of equipments because  more people will be engaged in manufacturing sector of equipments. Use of machinary will open many new vistas of business oppertunity in our country which is more essential. But, intially, the people will say in favour of mannual labour in present senario like use of computers during 80s.
