Income-tax officials conduct half-a-dozen raids in past two days to meet revenue projections

The past two days have been busy for officials of the income-tax department. Seemingly spooked by the prospect of a slackening in revenue growth because of a slowing economy, tax officials have conducted half a dozen raids across the country in the past two days striking fear in the hearts of the wealthy.

I think these raids should keep on happening now and then. But I sometimes doubt that these IT officials too are corrupt. There are so many people sitting on the top but nothing happens to them. Few such raids happen and then thigns again become quite.

It is not justt linked to revenue projections alone which is also required. Most raids in the news are on high profile targets. Smaller chaps like you/me get notices which maybe we promptly attend to and pay let us say the Rs. 350/- demand that was asked. The bigger fish ignore their Rs. 350 crore demand, necessiating the :raid". They are doing their job

they do get a lot of money for raiding also since raid is conducted for making some others happy wat is the purpose of tax collection from public and giving tax exemption for Reliance Essar BCCI etc ....

the income tax raids are good for the country,but they are not raiding politicians,since they are the rich people than the businessmen.Because of the system in our country these politicians are escaping.so,for this incometax department should have an authority to raid on any one,but it shouldn't misuse by the officers

I think these raids should be frequent but to actualy collect revenue and not to threaten the high profile to fill there own pocket

Yes Leena ji I am agree with you.Now its like IT officials also became corrupt but the question is who is honest?It seems once the people get chance to explore they donot left behind to fill the belly.
