The mobile phone user base is really increasing. I agree there are few people who keep more than one connection, but then I am sure it is their requirement and lets not forget no service provider provides connection for free. It certainly costs money and we all know the current situation as far as money and expenses are concerned.

Few days back I was roaming nearby a dumping ground waste area ..One man in a very dirty clothes was collecting something from that waste...after collecting a lot he take out a mobile phone from his pocket and call his other colleague and told him about the location and said "yahan aaja ..yahan kaafi kudha padha hua hain..." I seriously come to believe that mobile has penetrated to a very deep level.

i do not think that there is a direct relation with the sale of hand sets and number of new connections, because many people buy a new hand set to up date the new features and technology. And for the younger generation it is fancy to change the hand set as per trend. Also there are people who carry more than one hand set. But surely the number of new connections are on the rise.

It's being cheaper to have more than one connection and to manage them with dual sim mobiles. Now you can safe your things to different connections, and to distribute the no. according to your groups like one for friends, and one for official etc.

Yes, the ball is in customer's court, if he or she gets an opppurtunity to keep 2 or more connection ona very feasible price so what is harm, he is availale on different number, now its so mandate that person has a seperate family number and other official, eg: if a man is carrying dual sim mobile phone so its has two sim card in it which makes him contactable anytime. so i belive number of connections has increse with the options and choice given to consumer.

ya you are right upto some extend but if you ask any retail shopkeeper he will tell you the truth they have pressure to sell more and more new connection. According to one retail shopkeeper they sold most of the connection to the costumer which have already more than one connection. New connection are cheaper, they are easily Available, consumer have his one premanent number and he is switching from one connection to another as its 2nd connection. So As the whole ya no. of consumer is not increasing.

I do agree that mobile density in India is increasing like anything but I'd like to add a few facts here: 1.Every company should reveal the nett new connections for a given period, i.e. after deducting the custmores churned, deact. base etc which might be a huge figure. 2.Ask any tee-sale professional that how do they acquire hundreds of connections in a single day, especially in the month end & how they 'arrange' the CAF for that.
