@Vinoy Scaria Sir, What is the meaning of to be Developed for this country? Cutting the trees making the largest building of the world and immense store of weapon will make us developed? we were and we are developed. however this is a seed in our mind that we are not..........you are seeing the corruption and the billions of money of our country are outside india and still people are growing. this is not the example of a growing country. it is the example of the already grown country. we invite countries to robbed us till now however we have been robbed from ancient time as i said before....is a developing country can do this. The money and mind that have been taken from us if you can take from any country i am sure that country will be the poorest country in the world.

Success and development is start from mind. it is the strategy if any want to go ahead or rule the world he must put in the human mind that they are not better then him. and this has been done by the rulers i.e. british. Lord Macauley started this by establishing the public schools in india that were and are based on the western culture. although there is no harm to accept the good things of other culture. but that was not the mission of lord macauley. These are his word he wrote in his book:
Macaulay wrote of his initial experience as follows: "To be on land after three months at sea is of itself a great change. But to be in such a land! The dark faces, with white turbans, and flowing robes: the trees not our trees: the very smell of atmosphere that of a hothouse, and the architecture as strange as the vegetation" (Trevelyan 1876: 334) they always inject a thing in indians mind that you are not better then ourselves. indians are developed from the very early time. however there are many indian scientist working in other countries and inventing the things that are innovative. few names you know. you can find a small list here :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_Americans this is for america and well known names there are thousands of other that are in usa. and also thousands of other are in other countries too.
So we are developed from very intial stage. british robed us as the world biggest dimond is still they have kohinoor by robbing us. and also there are thousands and crores of dimonds are there. so just cut this seed that indian are not developed.

Thanks to Samridhi for bringing out a subject like this to the light again. Glad your your parents have named you aptly. I am really missing Hon'ble Shri Muralidharan Ji on this professional forum. And my dear daughter (I am taking the liberty to address you like this) don't you think 60 years is too long a period in a human's life? I don't want to enjoy the fruits. But would like to see my daughter enjoying the fruits of my labor. Am I asking for too much? May I expect a reply from you, dear?

yes, you all are right but do u all think that whats up after ten to thirteen years when black money and corruption would be thirteen times more from now !!! then also u all would say that our country is a developing country u all ask a question from yourself that weather u r corrupted or not ? if your answer is not then i would appreciate u and ur comments on this topic and if ur answer is no then plese again think on ur commentstht in the coming years crruption would be increase or reduse so, rather then then this i would be very glad that if in any i can contribute to my nation by reduse some of the corruption from our country then it does not matter that weather i am giving contribution to my country by this method or by the help of any social worker for examlpe anna hazare !!!

Yes we all talk about black money in Swiss bank. But don’t we have any black money? We all manage to save taxes by putting more rents and showing all other expenses. So think! If you alone not paying tax minimum 1,000 to 30,000 calculate it to the entire population. So pay your taxes promptly. And stop giving bribes. You can make it really Incredible India

Muralidharan amazing debate, yes we are a developed country but most of our countries wealth is in the form of black money. We don't have proper control over the law and that is the reason why we are still a developing country. Indian have lot of money but don't know how to use it for both their growth and that of the countries...... So people help our country to become a developed nation, everything is in our hands..... :)

Vinoy I agree with your point of view. Yes we are a developing Nation. It will take years before we can call ourselves a developed Nation. There are lots of if and buts with democracy where particularly the literacy rate is not 100% . Result a hung assembly so no concrete decisions can be taken by the ruling coalition. The above mentioned reason will actually will delay our development by decades.

Considering the period since independence, We can take tremendous pride in what we have achieved. But we have miles to go before we can call ourselves developed. As rightly pointed out by Mr. Murlidharan, we have have developed many snags in our progress during this growth story and it is time we turned to correcting these sectors. We got to work on our deprived sections. Thus we have no reason to assume we are a developed nation. Yes! we are a great nation with commendable achievements. But we are still in our nascent phase of growth.

Politiciand have the major role to play in the development of the country. Each leader is elected by us. If you think that politicians are the ones who are retarding the development pace, then do not vote. Still as an Indian citizen if you like to vote, there is an option to press a button in the voting machine which will go in favor of no candidate. I just want to say that the political system has to be changed or the black money has to be brought to India. If none of these things are happening, we will see the same things in future too. India of course is not a developed nation, it is a developing nation. Economic figures has go nothing to do with the status. It is the ground realities, look at the state of our agriculture, it is still manual, look at our education system, it is still medievial, look at our health care system, it is abyssmal, look at our rural infrastructure, it is still pathetic, look at our employment figures, it is still unfathomable, you can just take more such instances and find that we are not upto the mark and are substandard in our human rights protection even though we are a democratic state. It is like the economy is pushing us into Underdeveloped status. Who has the last laugh.... the definers!

Still we are facing some problems. We have not strong security, still there are lots of schools without proper facilities, in public life we are not disciplined citizens, In our country we spend lots of time on Rasta Roko, badh, communal violance like this. Indian Government is not keen to make developed country.

We are in developing stage why because many of our people are to be educated in many aspects. Many are not literate and minimum qualifcation on average is not upto the satisfactory level. if we think about general election and political games, the people are not developed upto the mark. Not only the money but manythings will come on line with development. see the traffic sense of general public, no rule and no regulation for many of the people. many of the people will not speek on good and bad things, some others will cash the others innosense. the sme way we have develop in many ways.

Sorry to say But, according to u India is a developing country because people don't know how to spend money for the right thing, at the right place and at the right moment. ples dont think that we r developed be looking at the smaller picture-- metros ,,please see the broader picture look at the condition of cities, town, villages and then deside wether we r developed or undedeveloped or may be developing nation. hiding urself and saying black money is the reason then this is wrong..this days people spend more the they earn......... please every one think in this matter and suggest what went wrong...

Dear Muralidharan, I sincerely understand the concerns and they are true. As a dveloping nation, these are the times of change. Transition is very tough and that too for a nation with lot of underlying traditions, cultures and beliefs. Cost, opprtunities, education and the basic roti/kapada aur makan are not being provided to all. Who do u think are at fault....they system, politicians, beaureucrats or we the citizens are responsible for that. If we the educated community feel that there is no sufficient opprtunity provided, what is the fate of those millions who as you said are not even lucky for a sqaure meal a day. It is about time that the educated get together to find a solution for this. This is not a diplomatic approach that I am expressing these views.......but I sincerely feel contribution from each of us shall bring a change. It is not necessarily be money to be contributed, contribution can be in many other ways. Educating the masses through various programs can bring a change - by being non-corrupt and not encouraging corruption, by being responsible citizens following the law of the land. We cannot blame others for the things not happening in our home. This is our home and every small contribution (as small as protecting public property) from every citizen will make our world beautiful. We are a developing nation with so much of potential as we have the largest workforce available in India when compared to other nations. This is the strength and we will work on our strengths, and also come around our weaknesses. The thought of success should be brought in to the minds of the people and this can be done only by the educated and privileged community in India. We have to be strong first inorder to strengthen others. I am sure that we all shall see an India which is proud of its ancient culture and growing modernism and take us all to greater hieghts in future.
