lets start with the basic why China is against India 1) china wants to be the Sole power in Asia and wants to dominate trade and India is the biggest road bloc. 2) China wants to show the world how efficient is communism and India here again is a road bloc because India being democratic is matching chinas pace. 3) few years down the line when chinas domstic market will reach saturation point India would still be developing at double digit These points has threatened china and their plan to dominate and also they feel once India is strong enought it will take revenge for 1962. Not only Chine 5-6 years down the line even US will feel threaten , its pure human nature

Any debate on India-China relations is of no use. The reason is that, till now, China decides, how the relations should be. India is always found to be in reacting position. For India to be in a position of equal partner is taking decision, India should take following actions : 1. Concentrate on economic development and emerge as a economically strong nation. 2.Increase defence preparedness. Install missiles along the border. Increase military presence in Arunachal Pradesh. 3.Retract on her promise to consider that, Tibet is integral part of China. China activism in regards to J & K and Arunachal Pradesh should be matched by India in regards to Tibet. 4.Try to befriend as any countries as it can. Particularly countries, who have territorial dispute with China. 5.The world should see, if China can play games, so can India. Theses are some of the sure ways to curb China's tendancy to dominate India.

We should learn a lesson from China, which is aiming to be the No 1 super power in the world in spite of constraints like over population, low literacy level, insufficient English language fluency. With a strong will, determination and excellent leaders who have a single minded objective of developing their country the day is not far off. When it is possible by China it is definitely possible by us.Let us achieve.China will always take us as a very strong contender to the No 1 Position, which by all means we should achieve.

Competitors can not go hand in hand. I do agree with. But, China's perceptions about India is always not friendly. China move to go along with Pakistan is not acceptable as far as India is concerned. Their stand is always tactical, but not on real terms. China need not be a friend at the same time it need not be a foe, to be a competitor. Whatever may be their stand towards India, I rate China's development is far more better than India, since their people are made partners in their development. Whereas in a democratic country like India, people are kept away in the developmental process.

I fully agree with you Ravali. China can never be our friend . A distance has to be maintained always. China also views India's growing capabilities in every spheres as a threat and thereby they will also not like to initiate any conflict. So, they can be frenemies only.

I think China wants to be the # 1 world superpower - which is what India should aim for too; also China views India as a regional irritant and not a threat. Friends are formed where views, thoughts and actions largely converge; and where each supports the other even when one does not quite agree or believe in the friend's version -- this is impossible for India and China in my opinion.

i agree with the view of Ravali that distance should be maintained with China for avoiding clash of interests. Entire responsibility to ensure safe distance lies on only and only India. It is only India that stands to lose to our 2 scrupulous neighbours, After fall of friendly USSR and nuke treaty with usa, India has becom vulnerable to the extent that old relations between China and Pak are (anti) India oriented and where as usa and Pak are co-merceneries also that usa is afraid of China and does not want any bitterness with China, pak and usa are hand in glove, so all 3 are together and India should not try to change the mind of opponents but change own mind set..
