India falling short of 3 Lakh professors

We all know that any figure govt gives is far less than the real number. The Union Government affirmed that the nation lacks professors and about 300,000 professors are needed in India's higher education system.

India needs 100,000 more teachers per year in the coming decade for its colleges. The government informed Parliament that it has allowed institutes to hire expatriate Indians to make up for any shortage in faculty.

There are many unemployed candidates willing to be teachers than why is this situation?

Do you think govt is not recruiting the right talent and then showing such reports ?

I am Really Interested in teaching but bcoz of not much salary cant have that..

Are we really short of 3 lakhs professors or teaching faculty? People generally prefer high-yielding avocations to teaching! They take this as a last resort when everything fails. Its a sorry state of affair! Mass recruitment under demand will lead to compromising on quality.

As I said there are tons of people searching jobs but they fail to get one. In such case saying that teachers are less is not right. Recruiting drives should be taken seriously by government.
