India or China, who would rule the world ? are you guys serious ! The ONLY 2 things India and china have in common is mass population. That does not! make a ruling country. Look at England for example, they NEVER had a massive population, but still ruled over half the world. In fairness that was a long time ago, before modern media especially changed the face of the world and opened a lot of people eyes up. Still, there is more to being a power house then just a big population, at the end of the day you need to have some, even just a little respect from the rest of the world, that you are some what different to other nations. ie: technology, democracy, freedom, standard of living for all etc For what ever reason, China will never get the major nations on side ie: Europe, Australia, America and even japan. Yes most of those nations rely on chinas massive population to do trade with, but at the same time, China relys on the rest of the world to buy their crap. So it really is a 2 way street. For India, way to many slums, and problems throughout the nation to ever be classified as a powerhouse. The USA created a powerful nation, on the back of many ! things, from technology, to even their Hollywood kind of culture which secretly most around the world want. Most of the world watch US TV shows, do you really ever see Chinese TV ever ruling the world ? of course not same goes for India. What makes nations like USA and England powerful more then anything else is their culture. Like it or hate it, people want a slice of it all around the world. That is the true power.

I am not against India. . . What we lack is the Discipline, which China has.... WE are a bunch of Free Democrats, who does not have a common goal for the country.. China is the other way round.

To begin with, the question appears to be quite funny..."Who will rule the world, eh?" Well mate, those days are gone. Nobody can rule the world the way you seem to think. Apparently you have the American dominance of global geo-politics since the second half of the last century and British dominance of the same for nearly two centuries before that, playing in your mind. Frankly, that sort of dominance won't be possible anymore. The world has shrunk and folks aren't as clueless about developments as they used to be, even till about a century ago when huge masses of people were virtually clueless about developments even in their neighbourhood. That's when predatory folks pounce on them and "rule" them as the British and before them, the Muslims did in India aggregating nearly eight centuries. As for India and China, well China surely is showing some fire in the belly in the economic sphere but under it's present dispensation, it won't count for much in areas outside the sub-Saharan ambit. Nations with 80%+ literacy will maintain a safe distance from China's bear hug. As for India, well, we would have to clean up the mess in our backyard before thinking of even dominating South Asia. Besides, it's not desirable that we dominate anywhere. So let's not talk about ruling the world and think of how to win the respect of first, our immediate neighbours in South Asia, then our other neighbours in Southeast Asia, then the rest of Asia and Africa and thereafter, Latin America. Let's not even think of winning the respect of Europe and North America. Let's say, we don't give a damn what they think of us since it will always be biased and prejudicial. You might find it funny but you can't run away from the truth that we fall in the eyes of even villagers from a non-descript country like Botswana when they see the distressing filth and misery we display before anything else. The tiny isles of IT parks etc. aren't visible when you're landing in Mumbai, India's commercial capital. What you see is, slums all around. Till we fix this ever-growing sore on our face we'll never be respected and till then we'll remain what we essentially are, a developing country. So wake up mate...don't live in such fairy tale delusion. Get real!
