Gujarat is a leading state in India in terms of growth, prosperity. There was a riot in the last decade between Hindus and Muslims. Hindus have always a stronghold in Gujarat. In fact, Hinduism has leapt to the second spot right after Christian religion. Muslim religion has slipped to the third spot. In future, Hinduism may be the strongest too. Mr Mukesh Ambani has been the richest person in the world. There are several others also: Mr. Lakshmi Vilas Mittal, Mr. Anil Ambani etc. Countries like USA has been bankrupt (e.g. M/s Lehman Brothers) and has reported maximum debt from the world bank. In the past there have been attacks in Gujarat’s Somnath Temple. Muslim warlords had invaded this temple 16 times in ancient times. In the last decade the riot between Hindus and Muslims was very severe. Many Muslims fled from Gujarat during that period. The chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi is a perfect ruler over the years. He is from the BJP. One eye witness even mentioned that a Muslim named Mohd. Ansari was so afraid that he even forgot his father’s name during the riots and he fled to Kolkata. All over India there was a conversion crisis since the last decade. Many were converted to Muslims by ISI and Muslims to Hindus also. For example, Kamala Das with two kids suddenly changed her religion to Muslim. In India Muslims are a considerable population. India has mainly Muslim neighborhood. There is always a competition. Two simultaneous atomic explosions in India and Pakistan proved this. There was Babri Masjid demolition and Ram Madir was constructed. There was lot of fuss over this issue. Now it has been solved. Then there is Kashmir issue which is also having controversy over the years. Militancy is to be checked and the conflict is to be resolved. Kerala is also having crisis. In the past Kerala received many dead bodies of its workers from the Middle East. I hope there is solution and peace will be restored.

Yes it is ultimate growth. Compare the growth of all the states in India including the states ruled by the party in power in the center. Inspite of the various hurdles being faced by Gujarat from the center, Modi is showing a good growth of various industries, sectors and able to bring in a lot of foreign investment. In the present circumstances Gujarat's growth is ultimate definitely.

The nation today will wake up to the reality that Bihar has been the second fastest growing economy in India in the last 5 years. At 11.03% GDP growth rate, Bihar is only marginally behind Gujarat whose GDP grew by 11.05%. This is surely going to make heads turn across India. Who would have thought that a state which had 5.15% negative GDP growth in 2003-04 and had been consitently declining in all sectors and all aspects, could change so much in so little a time. This is another proof that good governance and a will to change things can do wonders. Kudos to Mr. Nitish Kumar and his team for doing something which many would have thought impossible or even a miracle to achieve in Bihar. Everyone has heard the hype associated with the Gujarat growth story over the last few years, but Mr. Nitish Kumar and his team have again slowly and steadily brought about a change and shown the way of progress, which has become a hallmark of Mr. Nitish Kumar. Obviously it would have been more difficult to change a state like Bihar compared to Gujarat which was already prospering.

Yes I agree with you, Shalini. But still a question harps in air . Is it due to (1). Mr. Modi as CM (2). Mr. Manmohans' Economic policy for Foreign Investment (3). Mr. Ambani & Tata's presence (4). The Oil & Gas produce of ONGC Anyhow let it hang on. Because I heard a lot of Land scandal to the tune of 88 crore to Industry, Unspent fund on Social development-means development only on paper. Red tap ism in tapping telephones etc. It is an Industry infested state, we only see the money flow(GDP). What to say on these besides communal strife. So, it can not be an Ultimate state. Thanks for referal Mahalaximi.
