Recently When Hillary Clinton visited the country she told that India is one of the best when it comes to technical education. "You can look at the very best in Indian education, and it's the best in the world. You can look at the technical education and it is to be envied. It is so effective," was what she said.

Is India's technical education the best in the world?
What do you say? Do you agree?

Of course it is.. The outsourced business is the resultant of it.. There is no doubt an extreme talent lying in India with best of educational grounds.

Taking about the technical education specifically: India is one of the toppest in the world, if not the best. Research facilities still lack here in India to some extent, but will be covered soon in coming years.. i believe..

I agree to some extent as there are superb technical institutes in India but if one is to make generalised statements about the Technical Education SYSTEM then it is a different matter alltogether. We still have a slew of Technical Institutes which lack basic infrastructure, poor teachers and quite often totally unsuitable students who are granted admission to a B.E/B.Tech stamp to satisfy their parent's aspirations (some times even "Engineering Fail" is considered a qualification !!). That has been the bane of Indian technical education AS A WHOLE and why we lose some of our best technical minds who go for higher studies to the better equipped institutes in Western countries.

India's Technical Education is the best in the world...though proper system is still lacking to retain our BRAINS since we do not get enough opportunities to show our talent according to our potential!

I also agree with this point. India leads the world in IT education. We produce the best and most software engineers. That is the reason we are known as the IT kings....

But still we lack proper process :(

No doubt on this. The way Indian student look at the subject and the passions they show it is great. This is the differentiator with other countries. Still longs ways to go.

We are lacking in innoation and invention in India due to various reasons. We have the capabilities but we are little scared of failure and financial strength. Once we overcome these factors, India will be super power.

s our technical education is superior however we are lacking in some areas like standards, infrastructure, goverment & private funding for R&D. If we get all these stuffs then we will be on the top

I agree with you. I have seen lot of talented people who are poor and not able to join good universities come up in thier life with thier own talent. I dont think present education system is not so innovative that it  can make every student a GEM. Talented people can find way where ever they are. If i look back at our college days i just feel we have studied for the sake of exams and for the sake of the subject as our engineering academic schedule is so tight that you will not get enough time to analyse a subject and study in depth. May be its not jst time but also the student's interest in learning the subject in depth.
