Is india really an emerging super power?

It's now the world's largest democracy; it's the second most populous country and has one of the fastest growing economies - and symbols of this prosperity are everywhere, from India's burgeoning middle class to the relentless expansion of mobile phone connections. It's an increasingly dynamic member of the international community, now courted by the world's leading economic and political powers. All this gives an indication of the country's immense potential.
