From a consumers perspective ,Once when Google TV becomes common place ,demand for such high bandwidth will surge up. And the prices will come down slowly . From a company's perspective i guess its not that much worth as other solutions may exist .One thing is notable , we are finally pushing for more bandwidth :)

Yes Sonal is right, comman man will(can) not go for it, yet for specific segments like small business and high net worth individuals its very useful. It will surely penetrate some of Indian market.

yes I agree with sonal....its costly at present....i dnt think anybody will go with it at present......and if there is a competetion between all other SP's than the plan will be cheaper and can be affordable......

9000Rs is a very big amount, just for Internet definitely nobody is going to pay this much of charges.
But I think the plan is more specific to some group or community , you can take a plan and can share among any group/community/small offices/socities...
Presently I am paying 1000Rs for 256Kbps speed and an unlimited download. Taking this case(50Mbps @ 9000Rs) if I share this plan nearabout 195(=50000/256) users can come togeather for using 1 plan and by getting the same speed(256Kbps). Also if we divide 9000Rs by 195 users there is a cost of 46Rs/head....
So in the worst case when all the users are connected they will get 256Kbps + additional features are there as mentioned in the subject.

We do have a class that might opt for it. But, the point is , if the people taking a 3 mbps connection are enjoying a 256 kbps on their datacard, it stands a very meek chance that people will opt for a 50mbps .. they again will not take it by the number. also most of the multimedia and gaming sites find 3mbps as sufficient speed to work. Why upgrade without a plus point of upgrade. If Airtel comes with a positive aspect of 'why 50mbps?' . It might get a segment of society to buy it. Nonethless i find India not ready for it.

As far as people (individuals) opting for this service - I think the answer is a big "NO". Some game geeks or people with "silver spoons" may opt for the service. However, the "common man" may still be happy with broadband speeds that attract fee below the Rs. 2 - 3 K mark. On the other hand, this might prove beneficial to SMB or the SOHO segment of offices that can now boast of good internet speeds and connectivity.

I agree with Sonal. In India where average earnings are almost equivalent to plan offered then it would be certainly difficult to find a subscribers for such plan. And it will remain a limited choice of an elite group of users only. But my question is, what all services (surfing, download, media/tv, games, voice, VC,...) are we looking to converge in such a huge bandwidth coming home? And to club all these services, do we need this kind of pipe? Otherwise it will be a waste of money for an average user by leaving it idle/under utilized.

Off course we also would like adopt that plan ....but there is only one point that insists me to think ........that is .....plan is not UN-limited data download. If you see the most of the plan in any ISP website that they offer .....you will find they are giving you good speed of Internet but what data download limit they are offering (2Mbps with data download limit is 2Gb) ......So think about this plan ...you are getting 50 Mbps speed with 200GB data download......and i dont' think ppl hav control that they won't be cross 200GB. Off course they will cross the data download limit......and after that you have bear per MB cost......! If they offer 50Mbps speed with un-limited data download then i would say this is an excellent plan..........
