The recent U.S. immigration bill that will double the cost of work visas for some high-profile Indian companies which are there in US like., Infosys, Mahindra satyam, Wipro, and TCS, with that money they are planning to strengthen their US-Mexico border security. And also recently Obama has said that he will stop jobs going to China and India to save American jobs.
So, what do you think people is the new US immigration bill a discriminatory one?? Share your views on this.
I think it is and it just shows that they want to be on the top all the time, though American companies are outsourcing their work, even for that service they are taxing things like this by increasing the cost of work visas for Indian company employees and also hitting two birds with one stone, and are using the money to strengthen their borders. This is discriminatory to the core. Agreed that many jobs are being created in India, but also they are getting quality service from us, so why take a decision like this. Even the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday approved a $600 million border security....
Any Govt.has there own policies for either providing for any expenditure either from the federal reserves or by creating a fund and it is their prerogative to manage inflow of such additional funds to cater to the specific requirement.IT our sourcing is done to other countries as well who may also feel the heat.It ,therefore, can not be termed as discriminatory move . Yes, it is a discriminatory move by US. In fact we should now adopt the policy of TIT FOR TAT and only then these so called developed countries will understand.
Any selective barriers that aim to restrict or tax unilaterally is ill-advised and wrongly conceived. For example India cannot have special taxes for US companies aimed for Indo-Pak border security. Can we? It would be ridiculed and lampooned. By

We have to understand that, USA has right to take decisions to protect teh economic well being of her citizen. We may take this for discussion, but we are not in a position to influence it. Neither Indian Govt. nor Indian people.
This decision is taken with the thought that, Indian companies are getting undue advantage at the cost of USA job market.
In long run, as an after effect of this decision, US will realise that, support of Indian service industry is crucial for USA industry to maintain competitive edge.
Well, IMHO this is just a move taken out of desperation. It is well established that US economy is now in downturn phase & such move will push it down further. None of our IT company will bear this burden & ultimately this money will come out of their US clients. As far as price competitiveness is concerned, new policy will be applicable for all, so its not a big question.
However it might be a good idea for Indian Govt. to put similar kind of fees on 'Chinese maal' (read telecom equipments etc), to protect our fading Lines of control (i.e. borders). What you say??? :-)
I think country has to right to take such a decision to protect the interest of their people and we should learn a lesson and protect interest of our people too... By

Every country has the right to protect its national interests and the interest of their people. We cant deny their right. When we have the right to protect ourselves, we should recognize the rights of others too.
yes if india takes a similar decision to ban the import of cheaper and quality tea from srilanka or palm oil from malaysia to help our cultivators it is supported and we all unite for the cause. Now actually we are depended on US , they gave us opportunity when they were in good condition, now they have faced setbacks, so they want people of their country to get chances. what we should do is not to panic , just take those experience and just go forward. surely we will be on demand some stage or another, we could also create a world similar to what US owns, now we have experience and resources and its just matter of time that we are going to compete.
I support Mr.Chandrashekhar, Every country has their right to do the best for their country. Indians has a different way of thinking. Once USA declined sale of supercomputer to India, We have made an efficient super computer with water cooling system which is cost effect in operation. Now India have to concentrate on production of quality items and catch up world market.
It is infact good that they are imposing such things on us. India as a country in totality has a strange feature. It will not unite unless it foresees an obvious problem. You refer to any chapter of history and you will find that India has not responded until it is too late. But when India reacts it just creates history that outshines all other things in past.
I think India will now start developing software. Later, India will impose heavy taxes on these software and US will have no option to buy it at premium prices. It will not take much of time for Indians to create another Microsoft or Google. It just requires some external pressure to be applied. US is doing that exactly. This will have positive effects for India in long term
Everything that is don with own country in favour own citizens should not be considered as discriminatory. India is one the countries that leverages the partership with the US and it should not complain
Why all of a sudden it becomes a discriminatory move, we are getting billions of dollars of work from them and we are getting so many jobs, so what if they are making a higher fee for getting all these work. They are just taking some measures so that everybody has a fair chance. And with US economy still in recovery these are some measures which they are taking to protect their interests in the first place. We should stop cribbing on these things, visa fee hiked and this is a discriminatory move and all, there are manythings in India which is not right and we are asking whether what US did was discriminatory thing or not.
