I was astonish to see this reports......

The recent 'DUD' report suggests that Indian Air force and  are having defence equipments which are not properly working at all and most of them are just lying useless in the Defence dockyards.

Especially the Harpy Missile from Israel which was brought at a whopping 750 crores because it developed direction problems.

Then there is Popeye  missile which costs 350 crores a single piece, which even did pass the initial tests as the wings were faulty in them.

And then  a subsonic anti-ship missile which cost close to a 120 crores is no longer usable as the components are not available and anti-radiation missiles some of which were procurred from Russia have malfunctional seekers parts used to seek out the target.

And many indigeniously produced missiles are also not usable, with such junk in the defence artilleries how can one defend us, and with such useless weapons we are just sending our defence forces to face battle which they will be lost in the beginning itself with faulty equipments at hand. And India is definitely soft on Terror against Pakistan and doing nothing against China even when they are occupying our border areas, as we are not in a situation where we can do anything about it.

India's pride- its defence forces have a reputation which precedes them. What do you think, can the Indian Defence force defend us like this?

I do not even once believe that we would make a mistake like that!! Its sheer bu** Sh**!

Look, some weaponry that we might have bought at some stage might have become redundant and not useful because of NO USAGE!! We have not found USe for it. Also, it mau have become obsolete in terms of repair as these are from the older technologies. But that does not mean that we have ONLY JUNK weaponry with us!! Its ridiculous to publish such ideas and make the nation hear and view it!! Sheer Sensationalism.

The lated entrant to our marine INS ARIHANT, is top of the line sub that will be th envy of the third world!! Now, why arent the newpersons making a huge hue andcry of that! I think its an achievement to launch a sub of that hi tech calibre and that to INDIGINEOUS!! Instead we find ourselves embroilled in stupid trivia being fed by the media!!

Yes i think our defence looks weak for me, even though we have a greater number of people in Army and other places but i don't think we have proper ammunition to go with these forces and recent news reports suggests that the indigenous missiles that have been bought from abroad are a waste, so how can one defend with such back up...India is in no position to do what so ever even if Pakistan and China attacks us, this report is a shocker for many like me, and would like to know what others think on this important issue.

Yesterdays state-of-the-art weaponry is today's JUNK and so will be today's state-of-the-art weaponry tomorrow! Thus is the cycle of human and machine alike. In answer to your question, are you and still breathing? Are we still typing in our views on this forum? I say YES, which means the defence services have been doing their jobs just fine. Every machine reaches its end of life and becomes junk. Newer and better weapons are constantly being inducted into the defense services. Our 3 forces are perfectly capable of keeping india safe and sound. More than the weapons, it is the brave men and women behind these weapons that keep us safe. Even without a weapon, an officer will kill a handful of the enemy personnel before going down. That should definitely count for something. I'm proud of the defense services, because i have my family members working for the services and i know the courage they carry with them into each mission they are on.

Yash, lets first understand defending does comprosies several issues, by mare putting three snag order weapons can't really damage our defence system, which i suppose is very strong, ther have been several other technical edvancements too.... lets not forget ARIHANT......

Guys just by this one report we can't say that Indian defence force is not able to defend at all, may be there are some areas which needs a look into but then i believe in Indian defence force and they would do anything to protect the country, but this is a serious situation at hand where the weapons are found useless, i think there should be investigation where these deals were done and people should be put behind bars and newer equipments and weapons should be brought to strengthen the Indian Defence forces.

These days Pakistani Army has missiles more developed than us. Unfortunately, ISI is hiring Al-Quaeda to enter India which means they must be giving much developed missiles to them also. In these condition, I doubt, till how much time, our Junk missiles may defend us.

Really it still brings tears in my eyes when I hear about our defence force and a I want to be proud of them always.

But it is a serious point we have to put attention.

Just a simple request to all--You can be a congress man--or a BJP supporter--But above all we are Indian.

So give it a serious thought--where r we heading?? how much can we afford to compromise?

At the cost of our defence forces--shall we please others??Shall we create a position where we will never have superiority in defence to control situations in the sub continent??

Superior defence is not war mongering--it is required for many things and --Yes for business superiority too...Even a Buddhist Bhutan too has a good royal force...

So having superior militery wont destroy our BIG DREAM of ghandhism--don't worry

So if it is consperecy to inject junc in defence---SAD

Is that where we want to lead INDIA??

I have seen the news on TV news channels, as many of the weapons that are there in the Indian defence forces are waste, which cannot be used at all and then they have paid so much for these weapons of mass destruction but are unable to use...and India are stifled in a way with less amneties in this regard and are in no point of defending if there is an attack.
